GRU / Augusta University MSN CNL Fall 2017

Published

Hey guys, anyone else applying to the CNL program at Augusta University ( previously known as GRU)? I am going to be applying and if admitted I think I would prefer to make my move a few months post acceptance. I have 2 bachelors and my passion is with Psychiatric Mental health but I really don't want another Bachelors so the CNL seems just fine to have under my belt until I maneuver into a DNP program. It all sounds so pricey but in the end I believe it will be worth the while. I know I am early but hopefully others are interested. My scores aren't great but I saw people with similar scores with acceptance so lets just pray. I have great grades it is just one school gave me F's instead of W's when I withdrew in 2008 and I have had hell getting it off my record but it has no bearing on my gpa it is still "good" just not where it could be without 4-5 F's.

Good luck to everyone interviewing today!

@trichick- You had an solid A going into the final, you'll end the semester with an A as well! Are you taking Stats in 2 weeks at GMC? Now, you can have a weekend school-free!

@nana ofori- It is common to have to retake the GRE again, and you still have plenty of time to retake either the GRE or MAT. I would take some time off to relax and later on study/try again. You can do it!

Hope everyone had a great week & hope all the interviews this week went well!

After reviewing Athens vs. Augusta, I'm concerned that Athens doesn't have an actual campus? Just a front in a shopping center? Can anyone fact check this!?

I believe that the Athens campus is a satellite campus. I know that first semester the Athens group does their biostats and epidemiology lectures online while Augusta does them in the classroom, so it definitely seems as though Augusta is "homebase" for the program. I'm not sure how the sim labs compare as I've only toured Augusta, but I CAN say that the facilities at Augusta are fantastic! I'm going to go ahead and screenshot this question and post it in our FB group if you don't mind. There are some current students in there who would be able to answer better:)

I'm waiting for my last lab to post, but I think I'll get my A by the skin of my teeth lol. I start Stats in 2 weeks, I'm going to enjoy every second of this break!! :)

TriChick, thank you so much!! :)

TriChick, thank you so much!! :)

Feedback from current students:

"So yes, we are in a shopping center, but we have classrooms, lab rooms, break room, free cold water, lounge area, bathrooms and we have the luxury of close parking :)"

"Agreed. No campus, but most of us don't miss it. Many are moms, commuters, or past needing campus life. Definitely a different preference though!!"

"...^^yes, I don't feel deprived not being on a campus and actually prefer ours more."

"Plus you are three minutes from UGAs campus which I still use."

I hope this helps alleviate any concerns you might have!:)

This helps me immensely!! Thank you❤❤

This helps me immensely!! Thank you❤❤

No problem! The program in general seems very high quality, so I'm confident that Athens will be excellent!:)

I believe my interview went well yesterday.. I wasn't as nervous once I actually got in the room and the current student that talked with me in the waiting room was super helpful! For the people who have already received your decisions, about how long after your interview did you get your letters? I'm just anxiously waiting now!!

@Las00, congratulation on your interview.

It all depends on when the committee meets next, to be honest. After my status online changed to "decision made", it was still about a week before I received my letter in the mail.
