GRU / Augusta University MSN CNL Fall 2017

Published

Hey guys, anyone else applying to the CNL program at Augusta University ( previously known as GRU)? I am going to be applying and if admitted I think I would prefer to make my move a few months post acceptance. I have 2 bachelors and my passion is with Psychiatric Mental health but I really don't want another Bachelors so the CNL seems just fine to have under my belt until I maneuver into a DNP program. It all sounds so pricey but in the end I believe it will be worth the while. I know I am early but hopefully others are interested. My scores aren't great but I saw people with similar scores with acceptance so lets just pray. I have great grades it is just one school gave me F's instead of W's when I withdrew in 2008 and I have had hell getting it off my record but it has no bearing on my gpa it is still "good" just not where it could be without 4-5 F's.

I wouldn't focus TOO much on the background check. I've experienced a few delays with the admissions office updating certain things so it is possible that the required documents section just hasn't been updated yet. Good luck!!!!:)

Thanks for the supportive words @TriChick - I've been pretty bummed. I guess I will know in a few days. I'll be camped out by the mailbox until I know.

OK so I've been following the thread religiously and past year threads. My status changed today to decision made notification by mail. There is no where that says background consent form required.... If i am following the threads correctly then I think this probably means I didn't get in... Please anyone have any insight?

I *might* have called the admissions office a few days after the status changed to see if they have mailed the decision yet. They hadn't, which kept me from checking the mailbox repeatedly for a few days lol.

@mgs920, why would you think it's a denial? Let's just be positive.

Got the email of the interview invite on 03/03 in Athens. Anyone else have the interview that day?

No, mine still says ready for review.

Email from them will come to you soon!!

Can I ask how should we prepare for interview?

Hi! I just received the e-mail about my interview today on the Augusta Campus! I have it next Friday, March 3rd. Any tips/heads up anyone would like to share about the interview?

Definitely read the white paper prior to the interview and have a good idea of the CNL role in particular and not just nursing in general. Other than that, it is basically a "getting to know you" interview. The women I interviewed with were very welcoming and really helped calm my nerves from the start. Also, think of some questions you may have regarding the program. Both of the years I have interviewed they had two current CNL students sit with me while I was waiting, in order to answer any questions I might have. They are a great source of information, I asked them pretty much every question under the sun regarding school/life balance, their clinical experiences, their satisfaction with the program, any advice they may have for new students, etc. Good luck!

No problem! It really wasn't nearly as intimidating as I thought it was going to be. They are very warm and friendly and the time flies by!
