GRU / Augusta University MSN CNL Fall 2017

Hey guys, anyone else applying to the CNL program at Augusta University ( previously known as GRU)? I am going to be applying and if admitted I think I would prefer to make my move a few months post acceptance. I have 2 bachelors and my passion is with Psychiatric Mental health but I really don't want another Bachelors so the CNL seems just fine to have under my belt until I maneuver into a DNP program. It all sounds so pricey but in the end I believe it will be worth the while. I know I am early but hopefully others are interested. My scores aren't great but I saw people with similar scores with acceptance so lets just pray. I have great grades it is just one school gave me F's instead of W's when I withdrew in 2008 and I have had hell getting it off my record but it has no bearing on my gpa it is still "good" just not where it could be without 4-5 F's.

@kate8888 & @trichick- I remember oh so well waiting on the mail from Augusta University. I did the same thing as trichick to call admissions to see whether your letter had even been mailed out. My status had changed to decision made by mail on a Thursday afternoon & I did not receive the acceptance letter until the following Friday. You will likely receive your letter Friday or Monday! :). Hang in there!!

Did it say background consent form required on your page?

Hi everyone! I submitted a little less than a week prior to deadline & haven't been invited for an interview yet. Should I be worried?

@trichick Thank you so much for the assurance because I heard some program will prefer that candidates to be young and no family. I felt really comfortable about this forum to share some family situation. You are an amazing mom to go school and raise your kids at the same time.

Awww thank you!:) I know what you mean about the reluctance to mention kids, I have a friend in medical school who has expressed the same worries when it comes time for her to be selected for her residency placement. This was definitely not the same vibe:) Prior to my interview I spoke with one of the current CNL students in the waiting area and she was telling me how she balances school and raising a family. It seems as though there is a lot of support in the program to help you be as successful as possible so long as you work hard. That alleviated many of my concerns regarding juggling the two:)

FWIW - I've been freaking out b/c there was never any appearance of the background check consent form under required docs on the status update page. I guess that was not an indicator. Freaked out for nothing!

OH MY GOSH NO WAY!!! CONGRATS!!!!!! I cannot tell you how happy i am to hear this. It wasn't in my mail today but I had already told my mom I didn't think I got in because the background consent form hasn't showed up. Congratulations!

@ashleyb123- When my status changed to decision made by mail, there was a section below my demos that said background consent form required. I would not lose sleep whether the background consent form is on your admission status page as there are always technical glitches and system updates. Good luck!

@kate888- congratulations!!! Will you be attending the Augusta or Athens campus? The background consent form has nothing to do with acceptance :-).
