Grrr - MCCDNP Wait list

Hi all!

So the MCCDNP site says "Spring capacities choice change options should become available late in September."

Well, I called today to see when they are expecting to release the choice options because it's already getting pretty late in September - they told me late OCTOBER! :banghead:

Pushing back the date and picking 2 months before nursing school starts seems a little unprepared and unorganized to me.

When are they going to do the placement? PUT US OUT OF OUR MISERY!

Does anyone know how placement works? Is it random or do they go strictly by date and time stamp? Does anyone even know for sure...ha!:chuckle

I see that there are some on here that have been waiting since June of last year, and then I hear of people that are placed pretty immediately.

Was just wondering.

They go by earliest time and date stamp. (With the exception of the hospital employees who get in early than us) So for example, say they picked my number and my first choice was SCC and all those spots were filled, then they would go to my second choice, if that was filled, they would go to my third, and so on...

That is what I thought they did, but then I hear of people getting in who have only been waiting a couple of months. Of course that is always "a friend of mine got in..." or "so-and-so only waited...".

Good luck to you this go round....haven't you been waiting a long while? I am low on the totem pole, so I am not expecting anything this time. I pray and have a glimmer of hope, but not expecting. My first choice is an uncommon one ( I think), so I am holding out that perhaps by some miracle I can slip into one of those spots. I know, wishful thinking on my part. :wink2:

I met a gal who works at SCC and is a nursing major (waiting just like us) and she said that she heard that basically the American League of Nurses (???) reviewed the MCCCD program and said that it had to scale back the pre-reqs because its only 30 credits difference than a BSN program, basically too many credits. This is just what I heard through the grapevine.....

It's 2:00 on the dot, and they still aren't done with the placement. I haven't watched the clock this much since I was a kid on Christmas morning.

Yeah, my time stamp is 10/22/2007 8:03am and my choices were

1. MCC

2. CGCC

3. Gateway Part Time

4. Gateway 4 sem

5. SCC

And I didn't get placed! I did just change it to 3. PHX accelerated 5. Gateway Parttime

Lets all hope that there will be lots of defferments due to the economy!!
