Grossmont nursing program, san diego..what should I expect?

Hi,

it looks like I will be starting in spring of 09. I have been out of school for a while. How does this program work? Should I start doing some early reading?

congratulations!! how exciting! i'm halfway done with the nursing program at grossmont & i LOVE it. i wouldn't worry about getting ahead on your reading right now, they gave us reading to do during our orientation, which was a few weeks before the start of classes. good luck to you! :)

did they send you a letter saying you got in? i'm hoping i get in spring but not getting my hopes up too high.

Well I had called in may of this year and they told me fall of 09. Well I was going to apply to a new job, but if i start in fall 09 there was no use. So I called last week to ensure I start fall. Then she told me, no I start spring and that letter will go out late fall. (probably Oct or Nov). Thank god I called. I have been on the wait list since June 2006. So it took 2.5 years. I am really nervous, I hope she was right.

I've been on the list since january 07. I'm taking the TEAS in october. err nervous. I'm pretty sure i'm looking at fall 09. It would be soooo amazing to get in this spring though. Well good luck to you!!! i hope you get in. The sooner you get in the sooner I do as well. :D

did you buy the study guide or the online practice test or both? were they helpful at all?

Yes I bought the study guide and I did the test online. The online test gives you two tries. The catch is that it is the same test twice.

Hey Cupcake! I have not been on in a long time because it was just so depressing! But congrats on your start! Hopefully since we got on the waitlist at the same time I'll start too.:D I'm gonna call the nursing department on monday and see if they will let me know anything.

Well I called the office and they told me the letters would be going out on oct. 6th and 7th, but that I could call(on the 6th) and see if I was one of the lucky ones to get a golden ticket.

how long have you been on the list for? most likely fall for me. :( i just took the TEAS today.

I applied june of 06 and I took the teas in april of the year.
