Hi, it looks like I will be starting in spring of 09. I have been out of school for a while. How does this program work? Should I start doing some early reading?
puresass 314 Posts Aug 13, 2008 congratulations!! how exciting! i'm halfway done with the nursing program at grossmont & i LOVE it. i wouldn't worry about getting ahead on your reading right now, they gave us reading to do during our orientation, which was a few weeks before the start of classes. good luck to you! :)
craziechiq, BSN, RN 1 Article; 208 Posts Specializes in Med-Surg. Aug 14, 2008 did they send you a letter saying you got in? i'm hoping i get in spring but not getting my hopes up too high.
Cupcake619 24 Posts Aug 14, 2008 Well I had called in may of this year and they told me fall of 09. Well I was going to apply to a new job, but if i start in fall 09 there was no use. So I called last week to ensure I start fall. Then she told me, no I start spring and that letter will go out late fall. (probably Oct or Nov). Thank god I called. I have been on the wait list since June 2006. So it took 2.5 years. I am really nervous, I hope she was right.
craziechiq, BSN, RN 1 Article; 208 Posts Specializes in Med-Surg. Aug 15, 2008 I've been on the list since january 07. I'm taking the TEAS in october. err nervous. I'm pretty sure i'm looking at fall 09. It would be soooo amazing to get in this spring though. Well good luck to you!!! i hope you get in. The sooner you get in the sooner I do as well.

Cupcake619 24 Posts Aug 25, 2008 Yes I bought the study guide and I did the test online. The online test gives you two tries. The catch is that it is the same test twice.

Hopefully since we got on the waitlist at the same time I'll start too. I'm gonna call the nursing department on monday and see if they will let me know anything.
nikkidm82 19 Posts Oct 2, 2008 Well I called the office and they told me the letters would be going out on oct. 6th and 7th, but that I could call(on the 6th) and see if I was one of the lucky ones to get a golden ticket.
