Grossmont nursing program, san diego..what should I expect?

Published

Hi,

it looks like I will be starting in spring of 09. I have been out of school for a while. How does this program work? Should I start doing some early reading?

sorry I meant this year.

so i called grossmont and this is what i got

they told me to call oct 6th

times i called

oct 6th---we won't have the list ready till the 9th and we can't tell you over the phone.

oct 9th---- oh we will be sending out letters on monday

oct 13th--oh we will send them out some time this week

oct 15th--oh well we will know in a couple of weeks!

that is so ridiculous. they are so unorganized over there. i called last week and they told me the same thing.

It's like they get off on knowing who gets in and who doesn't! I mean how hard is it go down 40 f#$*ing names and send out a letter! Or just tell someone no you won't be getting a letter instead of given everyone a different excuse every time they call!:banghead:

i can almost guarantee you that they're just preoccupied with the NLN visit coming up at the end of this month. everything is kind of revolving around that right now. plus, today is the last day of the first 8 weeks of class & monday starts the 2nd 8 weeks of class, so they have to do reviews & grading & everything going on right now.

i know it's frustrating, but i'm pretty sure they're not just trying to annoy you guys.

I received an email today that I had been accepted for Spring 2009. So you guys should be hearing from them soon, if you haven't already done so!

Good luck!!! :)

Congrats, barefoot!! thats exciting. i'm glad you got in.

I'm already in nursing school so that will be just one more open spot available for someone else :)

hey barefoot when did you apply for Grossmont? i thought you got a letter for fall?

January 2006. I was accepted for this Fall but I went to City instead. I kept my name on the list-just in case ;)

well I called the school today and they told me letters had already been sent out and I was not on the list:cry: So If I get in in the fall it will be 3 years for me I don't know how much more I can take.

I'm so sorry to hear that you didn't get in for the Spring. You never though. There are a lot of people on multiple lists. I know two other people at school who are still on the list at Grossmont. I know it's silly to be in the list after we're already in school but with budget cuts and all that we didn't want to give up our spot just in case things changed.

Hang in there. I know the waiting is long but it's worth it :)
