Grossmont Fall 2022 Cohort

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi guys! Wanted to start this thread for those applying to the Fall ‘22 cohort. I emailed the school and was told that the typical size of each cohort is 40 students.

How many points are y’all applying with? I’m applying with 80-81 points.

For any current students, are my points competitive enough? I’d love to know, LOL. Thanks so much and good luck to everybody!

Hi! I am applying with about 79 pts. Not expecting to get in this round but still wanted to submit and app!! Goodluck! Since Covid changed a lot I am not sure how many points are considered good enough to get in the program now! I think we will hear back in May-June ish!

Thanks for starting this thread! I'm applying with what I calculated to be 84 points, but I know it can be a toss up with what life experience points they accept.

I believe someone got accepted the last round with 82 points so I'm crossing my fingers.

Good luck to everyone! Hopefully we hear back sooner rather than later.

I just applied for the first time with approximately 89-92 points (depending on the life experiences section). I also applied to MiraCosta and Palomar. I hate the wait. Even though I know we won’t hear until mid-April at the soonest, I’m obsessively checking my email. Fingers crossed for all of us!

That’s awesome! Is Grossmont your first choice school?

Palomar is my first choice, but I will go wherever I am accepted. MiraCosta was originally my first choice, but I’m skeptical of my chances with their new lottery system.

Is Grossmont your first choice? Did you apply to other schools as well?

Hi! Yes Grossmont is my first choice, I missed the Southwestern deadline so honestly Grossmont is my only choice right now. Why can’t they just send out the results already?! LOL. Hate waiting this long

I just talked to someone who graduated from Grossmont’s RN program and she told me that there were people in her cohort with low 80s to mid 80s, so there’s hope for us!!

Yea, I have a friend who started Spring 2020 when covid hit and she said she had someone in her cohort who had 79 points. I applied for Spring 2022 last year but was deemed ineligible due to missing proof of a titer (oversight on my end that I was kicking myself for). I applied with 84 points in July last year and waited until November, just to get an email that said I was ineligible. So here I am reapplying ?‍♀️

I do know someone who got accepted into the Spring 2022 cohort said she applied with 82 points, so I'm hoping the application pool is similar. It's been tough with the pandemic, so I wonder how its affected people's overall scores/ if people have kinda stepped back from pursuing nursing. Tough to say. But I'm hoping the best for all of us!

Hi all! I applied with roughly around 87 points, assuming they accept everything. Good luck! ?

I had some issues with my degree so I’m not sure if they will count it or not. Basically I finished an associates degree Fall 2021, however, I didn’t know I was supposed to apply for graduation in the middle of the semester and ended up missing the deadline. Although, I did get a letter from the district on letterhead stating I have finished all coursework for the degree. All in all I have no idea how many points I have now.  I do have a really good GPA (4.0-and Deans list) and got an 84 on the TEAS. But if I’m being honest, I’m feeling pretty discouraged. Grossmont is my number one choice but I’ve also applied to Palomar, Miracosta, and City. Good luck, guys!
