Gross MD!

There's a MD that graduated from Harvard and very nice and approachable BUT has the bedside manner of a pig! While dictating he digs in his nose and flicts boogers AND wears the same clothing ALL week long, sleeps in his car in the parking lot, falls asleep in the day room while patients ask who's laying on the couch? While showing him a wound he introduced himself to the patient and then proceeds to dig in his nose and flict the booger? All I could say was REALLY? Are there other MD's out there like this one???:idea:

I would be notifying the infection control department. Flicking boggers that could come from nares filled with potential MRSA can't be good for the patient with the wounds.

:eek: Plus it is just plain gross. Is it something you can report without him knowing it was you. That way no tension or backlash from the doctor.

You are totally describing an MD I once knew but he wasn't very nice or approachable....along with the things you named this such doctor would eat out of our containers of food in the fridge and then put them back in there without anyone knowing (he got caught doing this). He also stuck his hand (that he hadn't washed) into a bag of potato chips that I was eating!! They are out there, lets just hope not very many!!

Why would he be putting his fingers in his nose anyway, who knows what he touched in the hospital! yuck! Give him a pamphlet on "infection control" or just say "eww" quietly as your beside him.
