Have you heard anything yet? I am still waiting to hear a decision as well. The Sept start date is Sept 9. I am beginning to think the worst

Gross MD!
I would be notifying the infection control department. Flicking boggers that could come from nares filled with potential MRSA can't be good for the patient with the wounds. Plus it is just plain gross. Is it something you can report without him knowing it was you. That way no tension or backlash from the doctor.

Huge Dilemma...please help!
I would go on the interview. As a single mother, you have to support your daughter and yourself. A job is more important than a pinning ceremony. I didn't attend mine as I thought it was no big deal. I would have some sort of celebration with the family celebrating your accomplishments instead of the pinning ceremony. This is a once in a lifetime interview opportunity especially with the RN job market the way it is. Go on your interview and become the nurse:nurse: you went to school to be.

HESI, ATI, and Boards...
ATI is easier than the NCLEX. The questions that were similar to the NCLEX style were the Kaplan NCLEX practice questions.

Preemie Mom turned NICU Nurse?
All my kids were 35-36 weekers. My last one ended up in the NICU.Always have been in awe of the NICU. After his experience, I decided I needed to go back to school. I am about to graduate in 2 weeks with my BSN. Now onto the applications for NICU jobs. I think a nurse who has had a NICU baby can relate to the emotional turmoil that the parents experience. Good luck to you.

New Grads with No Job...Back to School???
I probably will. The openings are so few and far between. Better to continue to be educated. Whatever your dream is go for it. I had had plenty of boulders alony my path, but not even the current job market is going to stop me from my dream. I will get there one way or another. Just my:twocents:

Semester 3 and I know nothing???!!!???
One day the light bulb will just click:idea:, I felt the same way most of my first semester. I am in my final semester and realize now that sometimes I don't know everything. What I can do is study and learn as much as I possibly can. It will come to you and the NCLEX reviews will help prepare you and build on what you have learned in nursing school. Good luck to you.

"Issue" with professor
I think I would contact the Dean of the Nursing school and meet with her. You should not have a write-up in your academic file for something that is on the syllabus and student handbook. I would mention in the meeting with the Dean that you met with the professor and why you think it is unfair to have the write-up in your file. You would not be ruffling feathers, but trying to clarify what the policy actually is. Hope you find a solution that works for you.

Nursing School Drama queens
Oh yes, I have a few of those in my program and I stay clear of them. Other ones are control freaks. Just remember nursing school is about your goals and dreams. Make the best grades you can and study the way that works for you. Keep your chin up.

Am I Nurse Material?
Never let anyone stop you from your dream. If you want to be a nurse, you will achieve it. I am in a fast-track nursing degree BSN program now. My first BS degree is in healthcare mgmt. After my son's birth and a 12 day stay in the NICU, I decided I wanted to become a NNP. I had always wanted to be a nurse, but went the easy way to healthcare mgmt. After 5 kids & getting into a Masters of Public Health, I found I was unfufilled. I made a life decision to start taking nursing pre-reqs. I graduated with almost a 4.0 avg in my science pre-reqs. I now am about half-way though my BSN progam. I graduate in Dec 2009. I made the Dean's list last semester by working hard and taking the chaos as it comes. It is not easy, but I am happy with my new career choice. It is alot of late nights studying, no sleep, and realizing that family time is on the back burner. In the end, it is all worth it. You will have bumps in the road and ask yourself countless times Why am I doing this ? Just go with the flow and go after your dream.

Biology & Chemistry
I have to get my science classes done as quickly as possible. I was thinking about taking Princip of Biology & General Chem I at the same time this spring. Anyone done this? I got a A in College Algebra. I had biology and chem in high school but that was 20 plus years ago. I took Nutrition and Public Health Microbiology for my bachelors and got an A and B. I am not worried about the biology, but the Chemistry is a different story.:uhoh21: Any advice?
