So as corny as it sounds i am a die hard greys anatomy fan. I know its a tv show but i am hoping to find "my person" in my program, someone who i get along with, is on the same level as me mentally and has the same kind of passion for the medical field as i do. I have 1 close friend who ive know since we were 13 , but she lives states and states away. I keep my circle small due to prev "friends" who dropped the ball on me, does anyone else feel this way? Or has anyone found their person in their field?

Oh I'm on this boat so you are not alone. I find I get along with people who keep it professional, are compassionate, and are humorous in nature like I am. I'm pretty hopeful though!

Whether you are looking to find a permanent bestie or a permanent life partner, consider that there is a huge world outside of work. Since you spend a lot of time at work, consider that if you have a history of friends "dropping" you it might be better to cultivate some outside of work. Go volunteer at a community program, join a rec league softball team, join a hiking club or an art league or a Stitch'n'***** knitting group at a local yarn store (this is really a great way to meet good women friends and learn how to make beautiful things too). Do something new and different, get out of your comfort zone and stop waiting for things to come to you.
Making friends takes time and sometimes you have to kiss a lot of toads before you find the magic frog. Don't let that stop you. Get out there.
Oh no, well, I was totally referring to someone to team up with during my program. I had a real good study partner prior nursing school that was mentally on the same page as I was, I'm hoping I find that person that just gets it and doesn't try to be overly clingy personality-wise. Lol! I thought I found someone but they turned out to be a little too off-topic for me. Yikes!

I thought I did. She cheated on me right before we started the second semester. Made for an interesting 2 years :S

I don't make friends easily. Mainly because I choose to spend my time at home with my family vs going out all of the time. Plus I prefer to only have a few good friends than a bunch of meh friends. Most of my good friends I have met at work. It is great to work with your friends. Good luck finding yours. I'll admit I LOVE Grey's too, but pretty soon there isn't going to be any of the original cast left .
Yeah I'm not totally excited for next season tbh...

I went to nursing school with my twin....so that helped! We also met several other people we were close to during nursing school...honestly, many of them I am no longer close with..while the one I thought I wouldn't be close with, is one of my good friends!
