I am also looking for a green card sponsor. Trust me on this, no one will tell you so and so is sponsoring. I have been trying by using online agencies that are involved with sponsoring international nurses. They however tell me I must be flexible and be ready to move to any part of the country. With little children and the unpredictable nature of it all, I usually declined. I have decided to just keep knocking on HR doors. They are always quick to say no, and I move on to the next person. Nursing homes look promising. Good luck!

All of the local hospitals will sponsor you if you have education in nursing in your country. You will start as a CNA until you pass your nursing boards here. Call them and find out.
All local hospitals? Which ones? Hahnemann, Upenn, Temple, all said no! Crozer too. I have not had the guts to approach anybody else so far. NJ is a little more promising....

I disagree with you totally.
- Foreign nursing graduates cannot work as CNA before US nursing boards are passed.
- Sites cannot sponsor foreign nurses for immigration without the Visa Screen Certificate (which requires NCLEX-RN pass).
I do think many places will sponsor you for immigrant visa if you have taken the initiative and gained eligibility for immigration (Visa Screen Certificate) and passed NCLEX.
Keep knocking on doors and calling nurse recruiters for the hospital.

Sharoma55, have you found a sponsor? When I was looking for a sponsor in California, my lawyer provided me a list of local hospitals that sponsored. I don't know if you have a lawyer, but if you do, you can ask. Also, I suggest calling as many hospitals as you can. Most hospital websites don't tell you that they sponsor so all you can do is call and ask. I know that the process can be frustrating, but the more hospitals you call the better chance of getting a yes. Best of luck to you.

I have a few Phillapeno friends that work in the LTC facility as CNAs. I know they work for an agency that is located in New York City but they work in a LTC facility outside of Philly. While working they also go to nursing school. I am not sure about working as a nurse.
Good luck
