I'd like to thank the people who supported me here tru posting. Unfortunately, I FAILED NCLEX-PN again for the 3rd time. And that cause me a great deal of embarassment from my family, friends and people who knows me. They all think that I AM STUPID and DUMB for not passing the exam for the 3rd time. Thank you BON for making this exam so hard to pass and making more HARDER next year. I am depressed, no work , no place to live. Because i give up everything and spend all my saving just for this exam and just to pass this exam and be able to have a good job and something that i can support myself. BUT now...I HAVE NOTHING. Thank you BON ...GREAT JOB FOR MAKING THE EXAM HARDER...to PASS...

And i hope that your right about this HABIT? cause this my 4th time to try it and i am not about to waste energy and 200 dollars for this next exam.
I don't know anything about you or your habits so I can't tell you what to do or not do.
AND most importantly you are the only one who can decide how much energy and money you want to put into this. I personally would not quit until I finished what I started. But again, I don't know anything about you, and this may not be important enough for you to finish successfully.
You're not going to find a quick fix here on allnurses.com You'll find amazing support and endless ideas of how you should go about studying for this, but none of this is going to change the fact that you have to dig in and figure out what your weaknesses are and correct them.
People pass this exam everyday. So you can't blame NSCBN or any BON. Or God. As soon as you accept that you are to blame for not passing this test, it should help clear the way to find out how to pass.
The BON must love it so much to make this exam so hard to pass. They don't realized they shuttered someones dream when they put their life on it and study hard and then they can't pass it because all the nonsense format they put on it. I don't understand why they make the NCLEX-PN so hard when the people who's taking it are not REGISTERED NURSES. PRactical Nurses meaning we need practical questions...NOT HARD QUESTIONS...WHATEVER!
The BON does not write the exam. The exam is hard because you are dealing with peoples lives, RN or LVN. They are not going to make it easy just so people that can not pass can. The exam tests for minimal competency; they can not make it any easier or they would be handing out licenses.
Hey there.. OP. Sorry, I did not read all the other posts as there were WAY to many, so if this is going over somthing else someone already has, sorry.
Do you get nervous at all for exams? I know I used to really, really bad, it was horrible. In my psych class we learned all about test anxiety, which is actually a disability through the ADA. I was able to, pretty much.. overcome this anxiety. This can stand in a lot of people's way. I was always a great student, got great grades on homework, then failed all my tests, didn't matter what subject it was, seriously. I had to retake my nursing entrance exam, and it was cake, I was just very nervous. I am trying not to freak out about the NCLEX.
Also, it may be a matter of comprehension, not that you are dumb or anything, but sometimes I have comprehension issues. I have to view the situation in a different aspect because I don't directly understand what the question is asking. Sometimes, I just have to "map" it out differently.
Maybe try studying a different way, or try to view those awful questions in a different way. NCLEX questions can be difficult. I'm freaking out with the.. "All the answers are correct, but which one is the BEST answer". God help me please! Study what is your biggest weakness and build from there.
Those are some of my issues, and just though maybe I would throw it out there. I never ever knew I had anxiety, like real true anxiety, or comprehension issues until midway through my first term in nursing school. So, all through school as a child I could have had help!
You will eventually pass, you know the material, just keep on studying. You've got what it takes to do this!! Good luck!

I dont care who writes the exam, those people here who did write it know themselves. Sure the exam can be a little hard , but is it necessary to put those stupid format in there like SATA's , drag and drop..*** is that? its useless..where in grade school anymore. This exam is the most stupid exam i have ever taken. Im sorry ..for me its the the test of true competency of an individual..Your the one who said it "minimal competency" for all i know minimal means easy q's ...not like a medical q's..this not a medical exam..its a nursing exam...GOT IT!
I have to say, as a new graduate getting ready to sit for the NCLEX, you're beginning to embarrass me. You have to have medical knowledge to be a nurse. Quit throwing a temper tantrum because people don't agree with you.
Since it is a minimal competency knowledge test, maybe you don't have the minimal knowledge to be a competent nurse. Yet. Instead of stomping your feet open those review books.
Good luck and happy holidays.
