Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

I took the full 36 credits and like Prism was happy they accepted my credits! :yeah:

I would definitely ask though, because there are a few that only had to take 11 classes.

12 classes and I am happy I got away with that, my classes were old! Well except my French, I am so glad I did those classes now!

Hi everyone. I am in desperate need of instructor suggestions for Assessment and Pathophysiology. If you had an instructor that you really liked or one that you really would not recommend, please PM me ASAP.

I am in my first week of doubling up on Family and Ethics. So far so good. I am NOT excited over the CLC for Ethics though. It is 2 parts over weeks 4 and 5 and it counts for 550 points of the grade! Who comes up with this stuff?

Hi everyone. I am in desperate need of instructor suggestions for Assessment and Pathophysiology.... I am in my first week of doubling up on Family and Ethics. So far so good.

Say again what you are doing (I'm slow today LOL). You are currently taking class # 2 and 7 (Family Centered Health Promotion and Ethics) at the same time and then you're going to double on classes 3 and 9 (Health Assessment and Patho)? How did you get that crazy out-of-order schedule?? :sstrs:

Hi Prism! Yes - I am currently taking Family and Ethics together. No - I am not going to take Patho and Assessment together (I'm not that crazy!). I sort of created my own schedule based on what I was feeling at the time. I really wanted to get Spirituality and Stats out of the way, the Research seemed like the next sensible option. Now I am going back and picking up the rest. I might double up again on Leadership and Trends, but I will see how I feel 4 weeks from now when my first experiment is over.

So what classes have you completed already? Man at this rate you're gonna be done in 6 months! What's your end-date?

I, too, am considering doubling Trends/Leadership, but that's not till I get past Spirituality & Patho. I don't know if I have what it takes to double, but my goal is to get Capstone over the Christmas break so I have 7 weeks to do the work instead of 5

:grad: C'Monnnnnnn CAPSTONE!

If I don't double up again I will finish on 4/5. I am taking Community over the Christmas break, but I might change my mind and double up again because of the extra 2 weeks. If I do, I will be done on 3/1. I reach the half way point after I finish these 2 classes.

I make my way in there, hoping and praying and expecting to see some invaluable pearl of wisdom that will make everything become clear....click on it.... and.... it says... "Thank you professor!!!" Hi everyone!

If you can stand a few more questions about the GCU program, I have a few! Did everyone have to take 36 credits or were some of you able to transfer more from elsewhere? I'm wondering if I should try to get credit for one of the courses which is very similar to another one I've taken or if they will just make me take something else instead! Doesn't seem much point in trying to get the credit then.

Also, are you able to pay for the courses 1 at a time? I'm trying to pay as I go, with small reimbursement from my employer.

Thanks!!

HI HI!

I am taking the 10 courses. I had taken a few upper-division (300 level courses) in a previous bachelors so they could transfer those 2 classes in.

HI HI! I am taking the 10 courses.

Well then you have to help us with our homework for the other 2 classes. You shouldn't be sipping a cold one on a beach somewhere while we're still answering DQs!!! :loveya:

Suck ups!! JK...lol. I do have to say, I was one of those students that asked 5, 492 questions during the 5 weeks, so if they did answer me without yelling me off the forum, I was very grateful, lol.

HAHAHA. I do live somewhat near the beach and my parents own a vacation condo in Myrtle Beach, SC. (Although I did do a paper when I was down there). I also just started the program on June 30. So you will probably by done before me :)

Is it true you can double up on classes???? My adviser never even mentioned that option. I would love to take another class to get this done quicker...
