Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

SERIOUSLY ?!?! Who am I kidding - I won't be done by then anyway! LOL

Well me either, but... the problem then becomes twice as many students trying to submit on Sunday, which slows the whole system down, and I have absolutely seen it crash on a Sunday evening. Noodles, don't wait until 10pm tomorrow! Get ta typin!!! (s'pose I should heed my own advice, I'm still in the Intro....) :nailbiting: BYE!

Can anyone PM me a much-desired list of tough instructors? If we see that we have one, is our advisor able to move us into another class for the same week?

I'm taking a 2 week break between every class to spend time with a very ill family member. Are we able to take longer than 2 weeks but not a leave of absence?

I'm editing (though I didn't volunteer for it) our CLC for Intro to Research. Ugh.

I only have to take 10. I'd already taken stats and Health Assessment.

:oornt: DOH! Just fell for it AGAIN. Seeing an "Unread Post" in the Questions to Instructor Forum... I make my way in there, hoping and praying and expecting to see some invaluable pearl of wisdom that will make everything become clear....click on it.... and.... it says... "Thank you professor!!!" GRRRRRRRRRR :flmngmd: stopitstopitstopit

Too many times this week!!!!

You can take up to a 2 week break without taking a leave of absence. Talk with your counselor about a leave of absence. My mom had a two day surgery and I got a 7 week leave of absence. She was seriously ill (ICU/step-down/acute rehab = a month), so they consider these things carefully.

If you end up in a class that you are not liking in the first 24 hours, do NOT post in the classroom and then call your counselor. As long as you have NOT posted in the classroom they can move you. If the instructor has a TON of requirements (you must load all of your papers like this - .yourname_lessonnumber. and no other way).....flee!!!!

Ponder this...

Why, if I did my references correctly (which of course I did LOL), why don't they show up as pink in TII? Wouldn't there be thousands upon thousands of other students who wrote that very same reference for the class textbook? I don't understand TII sometimes. It will pink-out something totally benign that bumps up my score (like "Grand Canyon University" on the title page - duh), but then skip the reference page altogether? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it works this way because that would just increase my score and give me more heartburn, but it just doesn't make sense to me. Either pink it ALL, or don't pink anything that is part of a routine paper :sour:

How ya doin' on those PAPERS (x2) Noodles?? After my struggle yesterday and today with just one measly 750-1,000 word paper and just now turning it in at nearly 6pm, I'm seriously reconsidering my plan to double Trends and Leadership later this year... I just don't know if I could do it.

Hugs to all of you suffering with paper writing today. I took my kids today for a very long car ride, and as we were driving a song came on that was popular last year when I was in the midst of stats. Talk about PTSD! :sstrs:

You all hang in there and keep moving forward. It will be worth it in the end!!

If you ever figure this out, let me know!! When I was writing my literature review for the capstone, I was afraid that my tii score would be high, because she warned us we may see one, but not to worry (another instructor expected LOW scores). Anyway, both lit reviews of the SAME paper came back with different tii scores and both very low, like 1%.

I finished everything around 6:00, but feel brain dead. My brain keeps telling me "C's get degrees!" LOL

Not sure if these are the best papers I have ever produced, but after having to evaluate another student's paper in my Spirituality class, I know what true crap our instructors face and I know that mine will never be that bad.

Seriously though, I don't think I will be doubling up again. There is absolutely no reprieve. There is always something else to work on. The good news is that the rest of my classes will seem extra easy!

Oh wait one minute...we have to review a classmates paper? Details please. Like grade or what? Or just give input? And does that go towards final grade of paper?
