Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

Congrats on being healthy again!

Thanks! they pulled the drain yesterday, thank God! That thing was such a pain! Thursday the picc line will be pulled if I am tolerating my protein shakes (blech) and getting enough water in. I was supposed to start back this coming Sat, but dr said take one more week, just to be safe. Glad my work is understanding!

Oh, Daisy

I am so excited for you. :D I can hardly wait for me to proclaim such a statement.

(Trying not to get overwhelmed currently with Statistics.:nailbiting: )

Thanks! You'll be there soon enough!

That is so nice your work is understanding. I hope you tolerate the shakes and water. Gotta get you completely healthy again.

Well, I'm tolerating it, just having a hard time getting it all in! I literally have to sip all day long :/ The vitamins, on the other hand, did not settle well with my new tummy :(

That's one less worry. Nothing worse than a ***** employer. One less week to balance work and school too, so there's a bright side for being off for another week!

Ouch! Nothing worse than tummy upset and still having to take fluids. :(

It's a process, learning what the new tummy can tolerate and whatnot. Weight loss surgery is no joke! You have to be really mentally prepared for it.

Hi everyone!

If you can stand a few more questions about the GCU program, I have a few! Did everyone have to take 36 credits or were some of you able to transfer more from elsewhere? I'm wondering if I should try to get credit for one of the courses which is very similar to another one I've taken or if they will just make me take something else instead! Doesn't seem much point in trying to get the credit then.

Also, are you able to pay for the courses 1 at a time? I'm trying to pay as I go, with small reimbursement from my employer.

Thanks!!

Hello again! I pay as I go, paying for each class right before it begins. I was exactly 36 credits/12 classes. I don't remember who, but I think I remember someone on here only had to do 10 classes? 99.9% of the time though I see everyone doing the full 12. Definitely have them do a transcript eval, my stuff was so old I was thrilled to only have to do the 12 :woot:

I am doing 11 classes! I had already taken patho, so got to skip that one! If I'd stuck it out in stats I could have skipped that too :(
