Grand Canyon University RN to BSN Reviews

Nursing Students School Programs Nursing Q/A

Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

Thanks guys!!! You have been so helpful!

I used my books on three different devices and loved it. I could highlight in different colors.

majority of posts I have found, they just mimic what the original poster stated.or say, oh-ur sooo right...great post, lol I do my thing, provide real info, experiences..sources...and don't worry about others..I know my 4.0 is earned....

I agree. It gets boring reading other students just agree with the original poster and say the same thing they did. I find it interesting when others share their own experiences.

Question about the person that was proofing did that person have that responsibility and another? Because that's a big responsibility!

You have your part to write, and the proofing. Yeah, it's a big job, and everyone else is out partying when you are proofing, but I liked the control.

I look at group projects differently----More concerned about doing well on my papers....thus a low Group project mark won't affect me....which never happened....but I was never overly concerned about the final group project....made sure it was not a complete gaggle....but not going to lose sleep over it....Why work extra hard when it really wont lower my mark....just play the game, and be concerned on what you can control....ur work.....part of playing the game--if their work is complete crap..plagiarism..then u throw it back at them....thus if they don't do it....u have covered ur butt! But I sure would not be doing their work for them..why make ur life more difficult/stressful....thats why u ensure the deadlines give everyone plenty of time to take care of that...

I hear you, but everyone is at a different place on their quest for their University experience. There's nothing wrong with the way any particular person views their own path and what their individual goals may be, but people really should realize that what they submit on behalf of a group can absolutely affect other people's experiences, and, consequently, their grades. Yes, C's get degrees”, and my family would argue that I put way, way, way too much into my program, but I personally wanted my grades to reflect MY effort. That meant (for ME), a 4.0 - or pretty darn close to it - if I truly spent the time reading, following direction, taking constructive criticism and applying what I learned the next time, yada yada. That was my goal for myself. Some of those CLCs are worth 300 points (don't I remember one that was 330? Can't remember now), and with that being nearly 1/3 of my total class grade, the math could absolutely affect my individual grade even if I had A's on my individual work: A C” grade on a CLC with a total that high would result in a 60+ point loss overall for each team member, which would lower my individual grade below my A, and I was not willing to let that happen. Yes, other people benefited from my internal anxiety for perfection, and yay for them - what I do not find acceptable is that they're willing to allow someone else's personal grades to suffer because they were not willing to give their all to one.single.project.

I give all for my part of the project....And part of the game is knowing ur Prof....if they mark easy/fair....sorry, not going to waste my time....seems to be working, lol
