Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

Ok..will do AMP 450 Leadership for extra class #1.....but still require a 2nd class....right now they have HLT 314 Health Care Systems...on my list....anyone take this class? I asked my adviser if their is a group project.....she stated she thinks so...jeez thanks, lol

I have a question to all of you that have either gone to GCU or are currently in GCU. Does it help to take a week off once in a while? I am half way through with the program and really feel like I need a break for a week or two. The stress of statistics wore me out and I have been sick through most of NRS-433V Nursing Research. On the last week of it and there are only two of us in my CLC group. Since in previous projects I have been the one that FOP's (love this phrase by the way) it makes it more stressful. Either we will do really good or fail tremendously.

Brandon Foltz youtube videos stats101, I took lots of notes while listening, he doesn't make you feel stupid and actually makes stats interesting. Helped me pass.

I took nearly 6 months off..was nice, lol sure sucked starting back up! Why not take breaks? Guess it all depends on ur schedule....I took a month off between Capstone and my next class..I'm in no real rush.......

I got fried too, needed breaks. My total program ended up being 21 months because of it! Breaks also depends on whether or not you are private-pay vs. student loans. I was private-pay so I had more freedom. I'll tell you though that the "two week break" isn't as fab as it sounds; if you work fulltime, that break really only affords you that one little weekend in the middle. The first weekend you're still hustling to turn in that last assignment. The 2nd weekend is totally free. The 3rd weekend (just before the next class starts) I never took advantage of because I was perusing the syllabus early trying to get a jumpstart on my DQs. Yes any break is better than no break, but what really re-energized me was the longer ones. You'd need to check with your advisor to get the skinny on that for your individual situation. Good luck, I know I coudn't have done it straight through, I would have either had a stress-induced heart attack or hurt somebody!

I took a couple weeks off after health assessment because I felt really burnt plus I had to do PALS. It recharged me a little but now I am feeling burnt again. PrismRN is correct, two weeks off isn't much but it did the trick for me. I am in the third week of ethics now and am planning on taking 2 weeks off. Looks like I might have all my work done early in this class so I will have two weekends to myself... Well two weekends to do the stuff my wife tells me that I have to do. That's not cool at all!!

Yes, it does help. I took the break after Research. Felt burnt. And, I am happy I took that week :) Of course, I didn't feel it much, but my brain got some rest.

I think, whenever you feel that you can't stand it anymore (I mean classes) you should take a break i there is such an opportunity.

I took breaks, until I hit Spirit and then I was ready to be done, and kwmom kept urging me on with doubling/overlapping. I'm so thankful she did too because I am so enjoying late spring/summer, and getting ready for our move to the west. After years of living in our RV (I'm a former traveler) we are getting a 6 bedroom 3.5 bath house. What am I going to do with all that room??? We are going to go on expeditions to find each other in the place!

Hey I'm new to forum and starting classes on June 8th. Any fellow students here starting the same date? I'm interested in finding a partner to work these projects with throughout the next year. I do not believe in group projects because they are a joke when there is a lack of motivated individuals. So I figure if we get a serious group made it would be much better. Feel free to message me.

Are you always in the same classes with the first students you start with for the most part?
