Members are discussing the accreditation and acceptance of BSN and MSN degrees from GCU in different states, particularly focusing on the requirement of a preceptorship for BSN programs. There are concerns about certain states not accepting GCU BSN degrees, while others share experiences with the capstone course and offer tips for scholarly activities. Additionally, there is mention of GCU transitioning back to a non-profit status and the impact of this change on students.
Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.
Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.
Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.
I wonder if you start but don't post?
If you look on the class on your page it should have the dates listed.
On the email I got from GCU stated all BSN program were on holidays until Mon Jan 5th
I asked my enrollment counselor, he said everyone already enrolled has a break, but they are starting new classes every week.
Do you actually sign in and post if you see your name?
I'm still confused. I wonder if you are an official gcu student on that date, but you don't post until later, after break? You would be behind a week, so that doesn't make sense unless the end date in incorrect. Keep us posted, will you?
A few days before the start date, you should have access to the online classroom....that will be a good clue of when it actually starts, lol

It should be open now if it's a true start time. It will be interesting to see who posts.
If it is open..post away,lol
Thank you sooo much!!! i find this really helpful. I had no idea about the "turn it in" thing
A few weeks out from my 1st class I took a online Tutorial class----IGC 100 Was a 3 day class....1 did NOT have to do it or any part of it....was helpful in getting the classroom layout---which is very simple to begin with
Just remember for the assignments that require to use "Turn it in" that it is a 2 step process----1st it gets submitted to Turn It In--Belive it than states--awaiting report----Usually within a few minutes (but can take much longer)-----ensure u refresh the screen------you should get a Message that states Report Recieved! Click on that and u can see ur similarity score. And if you want, can see what is similar.....Once ur happy with iut..then you will Submit it to the Instructor!! And All DQ's and assignments that are Accepted or completed, you will see a GREEN check mark by it on the home page (where the calander is) No green check mark, it has not been accepted! And in the group projects..I believe only the person that has submitted the PowerPoint presentation will see that green check mark!
That part is all easy!
