Members are discussing the accreditation and acceptance of BSN and MSN degrees from GCU in different states, particularly focusing on the requirement of a preceptorship for BSN programs. There are concerns about certain states not accepting GCU BSN degrees, while others share experiences with the capstone course and offer tips for scholarly activities. Additionally, there is mention of GCU transitioning back to a non-profit status and the impact of this change on students.
Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.
Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.
Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.
You sure she isn't GCU or was at one time? That homework sure looks familiar! (hint), and it's the same class number, etc.. But yes, she is helpful.
Honestly, I have yet to look at those videos..just trying to find the "tina" videos to help out sunshineDaisy. We are down to 16 students
The Tina ones will really help. The one I watched the lady had a much more prominent Midwestern or Canadian accent. But this is the same information. Hope this all helps everyone. Just youtube search the class and module or assignment. It will help.
Thanks all! Sorry I didn't respond yesterday, was in doctors offices all day yesterday, fun!
Ok, I found what you were talking about! Thanks so much!
Thank you for the information tokmom.
I talked with my advisor the other day; because I took statistics at a lower level they are not requiring that I take it again. She did say that I will require 3 additional higher-level elective credits to make up the higher-level credits required for my BSN. That is where that additional HLT class came from. She did say that I can test out of it by taking the course though DSST: Here's to Your Health. So I will most likely take that path. :)

How many did you start with???
I think we started with like 21
yes, think it was 21 or 22. I sucked at the workbook exercise, lol Whats the min one needs to pass a class?
I did ok on that, passed at least, which brought my grade back up into passing range! I think we just need a C to pass? I don't like that she docked me on my rationales. Isn't a rationale my opinion as to why I chose that answer? How can you grade my opinion?

Did you find the ones by a Tina? They are from GCU and walk you through the excel stuff if it was the process of doing it that got you.
Flames, it does keep you busy. I was soooo slow doing those work sheets and stuff. Seriously, one would take me well over five hours for just 10 questions. I think I hated the DQ's the most. Thankfully our instructor was really good at explaining stuff. Too bad he isn't currently teaching.
