Members are discussing the accreditation and acceptance of BSN and MSN degrees from GCU in different states, particularly focusing on the requirement of a preceptorship for BSN programs. There are concerns about certain states not accepting GCU BSN degrees, while others share experiences with the capstone course and offer tips for scholarly activities. Additionally, there is mention of GCU transitioning back to a non-profit status and the impact of this change on students.
Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.
Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.
Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

Which class is 433V again?
There are modules every week, do you mean DQ? I think it's patho that only has one, but it's worth 20 points and has questions built into the question and it's due on Fri.
Even the freaking capstone has modules and DQ's:banghead:
I'm so over those. I used to think of Dairy Queen. Now it's Discussion Question, lol.
the exercise book questions are so tough!!
I second that! Thank goodness for those Study Questions, they saved my behind. The statistics DQ's can get pretty dry, excruciating trying to think of something to say that hasn't been said 1,364 times already

Yes, research has DQ's in the modules. Just a tip: Start thinking of your final paper, because in research you will be doing your PICO and finding some research articles that you can use for your capstone. It rather propels you ahead if you know what you want to write about.

How long does the capstone paper have to be??
There doesn't seem to be a limit per se, but if you take all the pieces together, like people say, I imagine you could add them up? I would like to know how you piece meal this paper together and submit to tii and not get plagiarism scores?
I am considering taking:
HLT-310V Spirituality
NRS- 451V Nursing Leadership.... together
Has anyone taken these classes? Is the class structure simular? One paper a week in each? Group assignments in both? Any information would be very helpful as I am really struggling with this decision.

I geared my response to how was the teenager was mentally? She seem confident in her responses? Well thought out replies? Aware of her health condition? My response was short and to the point.
Ensure you use the text book Physical Examination & Health Assessment for the assessment as it lists a step by step exam procedure to go by!
And ensure you have a reference page for the books you used!!
