Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
This is actually a ridiculous question. Given I am about to start online school.. and school supplies are all on sale...What do I need to stay organized? Any particular items you can't go without?
1) A decent computer
2) Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs (updated, not the old ones. GCU offers the Microsoft 365 download to students FREE)
3) Depending on your writing skills and familiarity with APA, consider purchasing the PERRLA download, a subscription to Grammarly online, and a 6th edition APA Manual (not required, but I use all 3 for every.single.paper)
That's about it for necessities. All your books are in the GCU online platform to be read on your computer. Some people bought tablets or e-readers to download their e-books on so they can read on-the-go, but since I practically never leave my house these days (LOL), I don't need anything portable.
Apparently I can just not buy a 33 cent note book? LOL.. I have a good computer with office... if I need to upgrade I will indeed. Also get Perrla.. I am SURE I will need, and also the others you mentioned. Thank you so much... I have a tablet.. that I rarely use. I would only do work at home.
Thanks for your input PrismRN. I think I'm going to try to stick it out and just keep going. I'm doing the program with a coworker and she is getting really burnt out but I'm afraid if we take a break it'll be that much harder to get back into the swing of it. Do we get a break around Christmas automatically? I thought all classes were 5 weeks always? Stretching a class sounds kinda nice around the holidays!

Yes, there's an automatic 2 weeks built into whatever class you're in at the time, making it a 7 wk class. Looking at the calendar, I suspect the 2 weeks will be 12/22-1/4. Your classroom is still up, but you are not allowed to post anything, anywhere. I remember the announcement last year, being a Christian college they take that 2 weeks break seriously, they encourage you to recognize the holiday and spend time with loved ones, etc. Absolutely everything is closed down (no advisors, no IT, no library people, no tutors).
:reef: I :stocking: wish :reindeer: it :christmastree: was :snowman: now... :candy: LOL

Ain't that the truth! Nothing like a little, "Whhhaaaaat???" for some extra motivation.
Oh, and...
