Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Published

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Yeah, that was the worst class ever! Our teacher was SO vague in her responses to our questions, which left us more confused. We just winged it and hoped for the best.

I looks like I may have the same teacher. No instructors and she takes forever to reply to questions. One more week!!!!!!

I am not liking this community class. I was trying to do the work ahead but still to much. Week 4 there is a CLC presentation (which I can't really work ahead cause I need to wait for the other members of the group). Then week 5 there is a presentation, teaching proposal plan, AND 2000-word paper. Seriously!

Hi gikg, wondering how your instructor interpreted the public health/community health interview(s)? Is your CLC team having to interview one of each for a total of two interviews? Or is the expectation that it is one interview, and it can be with a public health OR community health provider?

In The CLC assignment one of the member have to interview a community. We are doing an Indian community in Arizona. Then we have to do a presentation about the community.

The individual assignment is the one that we have to to a teaching (about whatever you want) in a facility. I'm doing about diabetes pretension at a neighborhood health clinic.

I figured after being in stats hell for five weeks (AND GETTING AN 'A') I figured you needed a cigar to wrap up things :)

Do you have the two discussions and six peer responses in week 5 in addition to this?!!

I tried to PM you but your inbox is full, couldn't send :-(

how are you?

Oh yes I know the assignment well :bluecry1:, but I was wondering specifically about the part of the CLC where someone has to do the interview(s). The way I read the rubric and the assignment was that whomever did the interview could choose either a CH provider or a PH provider and just submit ONE interview. The way my instructor interpreted that slash between the Community Health/Public Health Provider was an AND (instead of an OR), which meant I ended up doing TWO separate interviews with two different people. I always thought a slash meant "or", but she disagreed LOL. Made me do two interviews :banghead:. Doesn't sound like a big deal until you're faced with trying to find a second person with a different specialty (at the last minute), arrange a time, conduct the interview, document all their answers, then compile it into the PowerPoint. In the end both of my people did have very different perspectives so I got a lot of great info, but it just irked me because I know that other classes only had to interview one person ((pity-party :grumpy:))
