Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Published

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Whhaaaa?? "statistical papers"? You mean I can't burn all these stats books next weekend? I was gonna have a bonfire partay in my backyard? I was so looking forward to the smell of smoldering laminated reference trifolds wafting in the air... Do tell, Mama Tokmom...:banghead: Well at least no CLC, that's reason enough for a partay right there.

Get out the mini umbrella's for your partay. You can safely burn the laminated buggers and smoke out your neighbors with toxic fumes. :roflmao:

The papers aren't bad. They are finding a qualitative and quantitative report and writing a report on *that* report. Our instructor had her own headings that made it really easy to do in a nice organized way. I think Pandora still has them, if you want them. I really learned a lot in that class, and having stats fresh under my belt helped because I understood what I was reading.

Speaking of parties, I also think my graduation was this weekend. Obviously didn't go. :(

Do we have to apply to graduate even if we are not going to attend graduation? I have had teachers that have said they will deduct if we go over, and others that haven't had a problem if we go over. My instructor in Spirituality (who is horrible at grading things) said she wanted us to try stay in the word count, but if we couldn't get it all in we could go over.

Yes, you have to apply for graduation to get your diploma. It's going to cost you a 150.00. If you want to attend graduation, then you have to apply for that as well and get the cap and gown, etc..

You should be getting some sort of a reminder soon about applying. I received mine around December but with Xmas, didn't pay it until Jan.

That is so crazy. I didn't have to pay to graduate and get my diploma from my ADN school. I think the tuition we are paying would sufficiently cover this cost.

I didn't either for LPN or RN, but my kids who go to three different colleges have to pay anywhere from 75-100. Annoying considering their tuition is 22k on average a year for in-state school :grumpy:

and why are there ads in my post?

The graduation cost or tuition? The tuition is room, board, the whole shebang. It annoys me though. One kid is set to graduate and if she was going to officially walk it was going to cost me well over 200.00. That is crazy!

All of it. Man, it is a good thing I don't have kids. I wouldn't ever be able to afford them.

Thank you for your info, very helpful! what class you are are in now? It's my the first class and I like it a lot too.

I just finished up week 4. I have to say I am enjoying my classes very much.

You cannot get the class material if you take a 2 week break, but sometimes a break is good just to recenter yourself.

You do not need to tell them 2 weeks in advance though it's advised.

Not sure who you are talking too, but Pandora and I are in Leadership and start the LAST class (Capstone) on April 14th, and Prism is enjoying herself in stats. ;)
