Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

I started a few weeks ago :) I am already tired of writing and you guys said this is the easiest class! :banghead: I did the LoudCloud tutorials, it helped a lot. I was able to find and submit things without any hiccups. I also purchased PERRLA and am loving that program!

Grammarly is a nice program for grammar if comma's aren't your strong suit, lol. I have both.

Give yourself some time to get into a new routine. I was so stressed when I first started. I hadn't learned how to juggle my time and I was slow to learn how to write and I still am, lol. I'm not one of these people that can knock off a paper in three days and have it be perfect. It takes me a week to edit, lol.

Yes, you can order a pin! I didn't get the email, but thankfully Pandora did and I ordered mine in time. Start looking for it around class 7 ish or so. :) It is a nice motivator.

Hmm, I didn't get the e-mail. Or I deleted it before realizing what it was... I may have to see if I can find the information out about it.

Thank you. I tried the grammarly trial but maybe I should have learned how to use it. I got annoyed by all the messages that popped up on the screen that you have to scroll through lol. The first week I was trying to get all the reading done before answering the discussion question and then by the time I posted everyone else had! This week I just skimmed the chapters..there is no way I have time to read everything plus do all the work, research, and writing. I wish I could read everything..looks like there's some good stuff in there. I like that there is only one CLC assignment. Is it one per class? How is Family Centered Health? Starting that in a few weeks. You guys are right that this goes by super fast!

Some classes have more than 1 CLC project, but some classes don't have any. I don't really remember much from Family Centered Health. I think it was just fine though.

family Centered Health was the easiest class for me so far. There was paper due every week, but I got 100% on all of them. The teacher I had was not too picky on grammar I think.

Family Centered was a lot of health assessments if I remember, and two ppts for me. It was one of the heavier paper courses.

Grammarly: Yeah, download the trial or something. I can't do grammarly on their website. It drives me nuts!

I don't read everything word for word, but many times I find myself heavily skimming the material unless I don't know the material...at all. Then it's reading time! I have read more for leadership than I have in any of the classes.

Oh is it different after you buy it and download? I was using the trial on the internet. Is there a difference?

Yes it pops up as a side bar and it goes through its paces. It is very benign. The only thing I scroll through and that is pushing a change or ignore button is when it goes through the things it found one by one.
