Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
This morning's post in the CLC....Thanks Winter for taking the leadI did NOT take the lead!!!!!!!! Look at the CLC. My name is NOT in the box. I did not I did not I did not!!!!
Great job on taking the lead!!! I usually say something along the lines----sooner we get who does what--the sooner you will stop receiving my annoying emails, lol
Hahaha you guys!!!
Now I have a bigger problem. I seriously need help. I went through the whole document in Spirit.....110 comments. I'm not kidding. I did not even touch the first person mistakes that would have doubled the count. I'm afraid to do final submission. Please give me your input.
The fear: the teacher has two more papers to grade of mine. That whole meat out what you want back is staring me in the eyeballs. (No eyeball emoticons either!)....
The paper is done by ESL person, so that's why I'm struggling. But she could have gone to GCU tutor who would have cleaned it up.
What to do, what to do????
Winter, I don't really have a suggestion for you, I'd be wondering the same thing. I went the other end of the spectrum, I thought I'd be "nice" and I only sent a few corrections, even though I could have made minced meat out of it. I struggled with "it's constructive criticism that will help them in the future if they take it to heart" vs. "I don't want to come off as the grammar police commissioner". I ended up going the soft route. I figure if they've gotten this far in the program and no instructor has slammed them enough to make them change their ways, who am I (as a peer) to rip them up? I dunno, maybe it was the wrong approach, but that's what I did. Her paper has already been graded by the Prof, so anything you say really won't make a dent anyway. Tough spot to be in, maybe cut it down to 1/4 the number of comments? I wish there was a way to know what grade she got on it. As far as the assignment itself (your part), he's only looking at if you did it or not, he doesn't grade the other person based on what you wrote.
I was soft, but corrected a lot...put forth many references.....I used a fair # of references as it can explain things better than I can. Now if I had given it to my wife..probably not so pretty. I'm very fortunate that she is awesome, not everyone has that kind of resource! But yes the prof does not grade the person on all the mistakes you picked up, but 1 still wants to be helpful as their are profs out there that will eat that person alive. And since I have been living in Central and South America...I know it is not easy picking up a 2nd language. I have yet to master English!!
