Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
I'm almost done my 3rd class and the time does seem to go by fairly fast!! If you know how to use MS office and Power point that will help lessen the stress. Highly recommend Perrla.com for APA format--just keep in mind Perrla is NOT perfect, it has a few quirks to it, but I love it. It sets everything up nicely including the reference page, so a huge time saver...and it keeps a data base of all the Refs you have used. I started up a Facebook page and that has helped! We vent and help each other out. Best of luck
I'm not Tonkin, but it was the 1st class I took at GCU! Found it to be a fairly easy class. Followed the same layout as many of the others. 2 discussion questions each week, first 1 due Wednesday, 2nd 1 due Friday!. 1 group project, and 3 papers----probably the easiest class of the course

I'm not Tonkin either, but I do want to say it IS the easiest class, lol. Most classes have a group project and this is a great way to learn how to do these projects with people that live nowhere around you, lol. So far the only classes that do not have group projects are stats, research, trends and spirituality.
Trends is looking to be fairly straightforward of a paper a week, and nothing overly exciting. Keep the IOM info you have with you, because you will lightly revisit it in Trends.
Just an FYI on how much stuff changes. A friend who is in Community Health has two interviews she has to do with real people. The person interviewed has to sign a paper, complete with phone number that says they have been interviewed. It is a pretty hefty assignment and worse than mine was because of chasing down people.
Good times with group projects, lol I have lucked out abd my groups have been fairly decent. In my current class we had 1 guy be a no-show, But I knew that was going to be the case as he was in the class prior to me--and thanks to the Facebook page, a fellow class vented about him! My advice with group projects is get the ball rolling ASAP!! You have your group forum to post that only people in ur group can see--as well you can find their school email addy under the Roster tab, but I have found, very few actually check their school email addy. For each group project one has to fill out a "contract" stating who is doing what. It is in your best interest to make it as specific as possible!! And what the consequences will be if that person does not do thier part! 1 would think at this level people would care, but that is not always the case! But for the most part people do care, but it only takes 1 in ur group to ruin ur day or presentation!!
