Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
I did both. I interviewed my families and then delved deeper into the culture, even though the families I interviewed practiced Western Medicine and beliefs.
I think I will do this, but I think I want add the families view of healthcare. 1 Family was afraid of illness and wouldn’t go to the doctor unless they were seriously ill, 1 does not go to the doctor unless they start feeling symptoms because of the cost of care, and the last occasionally seeks healthcare but participates in yearly screenings, exercise, and eating better to prevent disease. It was interesting because everyone works in the healthcare industry but has very different methodologies for promoting health.
This is going to be a looooong paper I think....
Yes, probably the same 15 measly points...unless! Unless you opt to click that little Report Abuse link inside their post. I verified with the IT people that if/when you click that, it goes directly to the instructor and they, and only they, know who tattled and why. The student doesn't know. It is then up to the instructor to shame/degrade/punish that person for either stealing someone else's DQ and trying to take credit for it -or- at the very least plagiarism for copy/pasting and not even having the sense to cite it.A few of us here have had this issue hit us directly (students stealing replies and passing them off as theirs), and let me tell you it makes me :flamesonb: !! Seriously people, we are adults, this is University for cripe's sake not 3rd grade, it's not that hard to come up with your own blurb, and I'm personally insulted that this is the level you wish to function at. Not off MY DQ you dont. Nope.
Teeeaaaccchhhheerrrrrrrrr!!!!
I am so seeing COMPLETE copying and paste right now on a DQ from 2 different people. I do not see the Report Abuse button in the post because I would have sure hit it. It takes me hours to do the DQs and for others to get credit for copying and pasting is not fair!

The best way to handle this (IMHO) is to talk to your counselor. They can make a fuss without it ever coming back on you.
I just SAW A COMMERCIAL OF Grand Canyon University! Awesome...thats a first and lovin it!
Got a call for one of my advisors today and got my instructor changed for a couple classes ahead. She was on the no go GCU list I have seen, and may have also been on the FAA's no fly list!!!
Anyway we got to talking and I told her I am having difficulty staying ahead of the game. She said that my next class is health assessment and she believes it isn't that difficult. I can't reall say that any of the classes have been difficult, just real busy.
What is your take on the Health Assessment class?

You seem to be in the typical mode of the beginner gcu student. Every class seems busier than the last and health assessment was, for me, one off the busiest. After health assessment it seemed to level off.
Like you, it's not brain wracking stuff but interesting and insightful.
It's the amount of work and reading that keeps one on their toes.
