Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
It does seem like busy work, mostly I think because it is stuff that we have been doing for years (at least for me). Also for everyone who has that list....there are serious updates, some people need to be removed from the good to go list. There was one on there recently that I got a raving review, and she had 4 or more pages of instructions and one of those pages had another gazillion links on it!!! Yes I exited the classroom.
LOL Well I for sure need the updated list. I had to remove myself from a few classes when I seen all the rules. I was like "WHERE'S THE NEAREST EXIT"!! lol
I just found the initial thread where Toki and Prism were researching schools and deciding on GCU! It was fun to read. You did good research and I agree, the responses to those initial hiccups were honest and believable. What is very sweet is that once you started, you were already helping others with tips for papers, preparation for classes, etc. Just as you do now.
I did hear the fear in some of the posts, from others-and your resolve helped them decide. I feel so much better about everything.
Read a good quote this morning, which hit home. "It is better to start now, when things are good. Than to wait until next week or month when things are perfect."
I think regarding instructors (good vs. not so good), it's personal preference. I myself prefer someone who is interactive, clear with instructions, and when I ask a question to clarify, they respond with a real answer that helps me move on with my assignment. Also someone that when they do grade, if I've not done a stellar job, please tell me exactly where my weakness was so I can improve next time. Speed of grading is not something I necessarily care about, they all have 7 days to get their grades posted so that's something I'm willing to pass on if I can get someone who is interested in helping me succeed.
PrismRN,I am referring to those instructors who deduct 50% for APA errors, you know which ones im talking about! The ones you want to RUN from because we dont put a period where its supposed to be LOL...Just any suggestiions on intructors that would be recommended for Ethics.
Yeah, I hear you, luckily I haven't run across those. I wish I had a suggestion for you, but my Ethics experience was one for the books. Traumatic isn't the word. Mostly it was the CLC that just couldn't seem to get it together, but the Instr was one of those that replied (to my request for assistance in the form of a catltle prod) something like, "Give people a chance, everyone works differnt shifts and has different life responsibilities. Typically these things work themselves out". That wasn't the response I was hoping for on the Friday before it's due
