Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Nursing Students Online Learning

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

My instructor did not require all levels of health promotion to be the same topic. I think I just found articles that included the particular level for that part of the paper.

Me too. I googled "Primary Prevention" and picked one, same thing for SP & TP. All 3 articles were on different Dx's.

imagegifOh yes!!! Kwmom is doing the halfway there dance! Thanks Prism.

I don't think any of us did it the same. Check out page 99 of THIS thread, and then page 95 of the OTHER thread where Noodles asked this question. I remember tokmom did them all on CHF, and all 3 articles of mine were on different Dx.

Omg, how do you remember that???

The page thing?? If I wasn't on my phone I would insert a mind boggling icon.

Yes, what Prism said. Everyone did whatever. Me being OCD and looking at CHF for my capstone mine were all CHF. Others did a mixture.

Okay I'd like to take credit for being a total Einstein, but...there's this handy little search feature down at the bottom of this page, which will search this thread for key words. So for rob's question, I typed in 'primary' and only had to go through a few to find it. Probably would've gotten fewer hits with 'tertiary' but wasn't sure we used that word. It only works of there's a weird word that we don't use all the time (like don't go searching for 'CLC' or 'instructor' or 'I'm so ready to be done!' :roflmao:).

Or, perhaps I AM actually that smart that I can close my eyes and think, "Okay, that was August 5 that Noodles asked that, so that would be page 95..." HA! I wish!

This is seriously funny!! I tried searching about this using the upper right search bar and kept getting all kinds of posts from all around Allnurses. I never could find an advanced search bar that would search specific threads.... I should have just looked down.

So do the instructors read these posts on the DQ forums. I just responded to one today that was 333 words long and 247 words were a direct quote from the text book. The rest of the words were from the text also, just not direct quotes and mixed up a little. Do they think that they are the only ones who read the book and no one would notice?

Oh brother...... And I probably get the same 15 points as they do.....

Yes, probably the same 15 measly points...unless! Unless you opt to click that little Report Abuse link inside their post. I verified with the IT people that if/when you click that, it goes directly to the instructor and they, and only they, know who tattled and why. The student doesn't know. It is then up to the instructor to shame/degrade/punish that person for either stealing someone else's DQ and trying to take credit for it -or- at the very least plagiarism for copy/pasting and not even having the sense to cite it.

A few of us here have had this issue hit us directly (students stealing replies and passing them off as theirs), and let me tell you it makes me :flamesonb: !! Seriously people, we are adults, this is University for cripe's sake not 3rd grade, it's not that hard to come up with your own blurb, and I'm personally insulted that this is the level you wish to function at. Not off MY DQ you dont. Nope.

Teeeaaaccchhhheerrrrrrrrr!!!!

Oh, and these are your CLC partners, either in this class or the next or the next... Someone needs to teach them early on that this is not how we roll.

I hear ya, that's a :nuke:, kind of like the forehead slap I gave myself when, after I googled, hunted, searched the whole GCU website and finally called someone to find the link to the IT people...when alllll along it was right there: a little tiny blue link at the bottom of all LC pages, right next to the ticking digital clock, that says "Tech Support". :anbd: Looked right past it for a year.

I have several ppl to respond to.. how do I clear my mailbox?

Sorry got it!!
