Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
Speaking of what the heck does this assignment mean...I can't figure out what my current assignment means!!
I have a question into the instructor, and one in Winterwhite, who recently had this class with this instructor, and one into my CLC members. Now I wait in limbo, waiting, waiting, waiting for a response
Uh Oh... another one! Well, welcome to the "What the Heck Does This Assignment Even MEAN??" club!! Half the time on here we're just trying to understand what we're supposed to do - once we figure it out we're good to go, but I'd like to meet the goof that wrote all those assignment descriptions...
Oh crap, not that. Reminds me of the capstone project/questions we had to answer for my ADN. 80 pages of what seemed like hieroglyphics that took 3 instructors to decipher. It could have been a learning experience if we didn't have to sit and scratch our heads until we had open wounds. Now I can't wait..... (Sarcasm).
LOL Yes, Flames bailed on us, he's on an extended break from school, off galavanting around the globe somewhere!
EEK! No Way! Nothing like that here, thank goodness. Weekly reading consists of a "Lecture Note" which is a Word Doc usually 1-2 pages long, a few links to interesting articles, and usually a chapter from the assigned e-book. I thought we had a lot of reading, but if you're used to that, this is going to be a welcome relief for you.
I hear "Trends" and "Leadership", but I'm no expert because I thought I was gonna do it and then thought better of it. I struggle with one class and working M-F 8-5, so my weekends are spent on the assignments that are due every Sunday. There's jsut no way I could whip out TWO papers every weekend, even if it was only 5 weekends. More power to ya I say, I'm happy for those that can buckle down and get it done. You will have to wait awhile to get the opportunity, GCU wants you to have pretty decent grades before they'll trust you with a double-up.

Welcome aboard Rob, the more the merrier! (or is that "misery loves company?"
) :[anb]:
LOL, Prism, do you think Rob will be a bit crazed after a few classes?
The downside of online is the lack of a classroom. If you have trouble understanding the questions asked you can't raise your hand. Sooo, we sorta ask for clarification here at times.
I echo what Prism says. Doubling up is doable but Gcu only allows after the fourth class and if grades are ok. Trends and leadership would be doable, and if you are use to cranking out power points and papers, it may be ok. I'm not a multi-paper person, so taking one class at a time worked for me.
Enjoy your time off before school!
I am still planning to start 10/13. I am unable to find the original CLEP credits I received years ago for English.
The science was found on a transcript. The English was not. I will attempt to find it in the basement, but if I am
unable to I will have to take the CLEP.
Do you think a writing course in advance of starting would actually help me, given I have been out of school for long?
Thanks!

GCU has tutorials that will help you get back into paper writing by giving different approaches. I think they are under the writing center tab on the website. I could be wrong but I know they are on there somewhere. Good luck. Wherever you previously took the English class should have record of it. I'd double check with them.
Hey fellow GCU students,
I have some concerns about my current class and I'm wondering if you've had this experience before. I usually receive full credit with DQ questions, and this week my teacher only credited me half. I'm my Patho class, so there is only one DQ question/week worth 20 points. I emailed her via the Individual Forum, and her response was that it wasn't substantial enough ! I looked into my other classmates responses and, for the most part, our informations were similar. It just bothers me because I tried to make it "substantial" enough, and only getting half credit basically earns a failing mark for that DQ. I emailed her again for the specific recommendations to improve for the future, and waiting for a response currently. What do you guys suggest? I really want those 10 points back, grr...
I'm praying to the perrla gods that my first paper I just submitted is close to being APA compliant! It was an easy process and I will definitely use it again, provided it didn't steer me wrong!
Perrla works well if you choose the correct formatting. If you call something a white document and it's not, it will format it differently than a journal article.
Congrats on your first submission!!

Not me, but I way over did mine, lol. However a friend was hit a few times, and I was given warnings on citing more frequently.
It's more common than you think.
