Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Published

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

It's Ethics, and this was only Part I of the CLC, Part II is due next week and so far it's looking like dejavu for team spirit (absent).

I finally did break down and send a note to the boss. My luck it'll come across as tattling, or she'll tell me I should've spoken up sooner so it's my own fault. Either way I'll come out smelling like a turdy rose.

I had to do that a numerous times. It was stressful, but typically the instructors realize this and acknowledge your frustration. I hope your Ethics Teacher understands this. Is this the final week? I hope it goes better for you

So is there anyone new to GCU that's starting next month?

My first class will be September 15th.

Getting anxious about starting bc I just want it done!

Will what I'm attempting to learn in stats be used in any other class? I'm having high doubts that I will remember any of it after the class is over.

I am starting August 25 as long as GCU receives my transcripts this week. I'm doing the 3 day intro class this week. Starting to get excited for this journey!

Good luck keepmovingrn & derkfamily. I'm in my 5th class and although it really does go fast it seems like each class will never end. LOL. This forum is really an awesome resource for advice and support from those who are also in the program.

I agree, I am glad I have a place to turn when I have questions!

I hear stats comes back in research and capstone. Oh joy!

With the way I'm going through this Derkfam. And keepmoving will probably pass me but I need a break. Everyday, lol.

Welcome Derkfamily and keepmovingrn! These forums and posts within have been awesome and helpful! I just finshed Health Assessment and moving to Community Ed next week.

I hope to not be too far behind you Derkfamily and keepmovingrn! I am waiting to hear about what credits they will accept/ credits I will need. I waited quite a while only to find out after talking to admissions counselor they had not ordered my transcripts as promised. So I ordered them my self, they should have them by now.

Is that typical? Do you think I should ask for a different counselor?

Hey! So far I'm having really good results and follow up with my counselor. I connected with her through one of my friends/former RN class mate-who graduates in 6wks!!!

I started my process on Monday-I emailed her all my unofficial transcripts from the schools I got credits from-next day I received an unofficial plan (I had 84+ credits-so I just have the 12 BSN courses to tAke) yesterday I completed the application and transcript request forms. Tomorrow my counselor will call me to help me with setting up my student profile and how to navigate through the website. I completed the financial aid tonight.

Start my first class on the 15th of next month. I'm ready-my friend had nothing but good things to say about the program.

Can you ask to speak to a certain enrollment counselor. I also have a friend that has had very good luck and is graduating this month. She suggested someone, but I was told I couldn't choose!

She may not be an admissions counselor though, I think we are assigned to an RN counselor for guidance are we not?

I think I got lucky. My friend gave her my contact info. We have communicated daily this week to help things run smoothly.

I'm very type A and it would drive me crazy if I had a admissions counselor that wasn't on top of things.

I wonder can you request a different counselor or do you have any copies of your unofficial transcripts you can email or scan yourself to send and get a unofficial plan (that way you have a better idea). I can tell you they take any college credits.
