Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Published

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Exactly, that was my question. :yeah: She said that " PP can be attached but not mandatory." in the forum and made me confused.. and wanted to verify.. Not sure that means she won't consider any of PP or other presentations that even who would submit right? just wonder she would give better points those who submit the presentation..

You're right, there is no rubric for this piece, BUTTTT, there is an assignment dropbox for it (titled "Community Teaching Plan: Community Presentation"), so now I'm confused - is she saying you don't have to submit your visual-aid project/presentation? And if you don't, how do you get points/grade for that piece? She's just going to trust that you did it and award you 100 points? Man, I was in the wrong class! :arghh:

Oh I am actually finishing week 3, Just feel overwhelmed because I am also starting a new job and my son's B-day party coming up.. Do you have to submit the PP or pamphlet presentation to the drop box?

I am also finishing week 5 in community so we may be in same class. This class is so unclear and confusing. Instructor seems MIA when it comes to clarification. I did my comm teaching in a nursing home nearby.

Somebody in my class asked and yes we do have to submit. I've never had to submit more than one piece to an assignment before and did it wrong. I called tech support to see if it submitted correctly and it didn't. They said I need to upload all pieces together in one group instead of uploading individually. Now I have sent my instructor asking to reassign the assignments to me so I can redo it as a group. Ugh. So frustrating. I sure hope statistics is less confusing. :/

I loved my week 5 assignment! It was fun! If you need help, PM me!

Vegan... please share your topic and/or who you presented to? Also, if one works in critical care, is it best to prepare something in that area? And present to whom? Or can you choose anything you want? And go to a local nursing home or community center? Sounds like you are very outgoing and loved this experience. I can do this (if I am accepted to GCU), but really need more guidelines than so many felt they did not get.

Don't fret Pink, I'm sure you will be accepted. It's the credits that can be worrisome, but many ADN already have much of what is needed except for the dreaded stats class.

This ONE assignment is really the only confusing one in the entire program, IMO. It's just large, so you have to be very organized. All of the program is doable and you will be very proud of yourself upon graduation.

:wacky: I start Community Next week and you all are scaring me. I am confused and I am not even in that class yet.

I did the exact same thing the first time I was responsible for submitting the whole CLC and the CLC agreement. I did the agreement first (duh), and when I went back to do "new attempt", it was locked out. FREAKOUT CITY. Too late to get the instructor to reset it (Sunday nite), so I attached it inside the color forum so she'd see at least it was submitted before midnight and not dock the crew for it being late. Only later did I realize that yep, just keep clicking the "browse" button inside the dropbox and attach as may as you want in the same dropbox. Oy.

Um, no. :yuck:

That drop box thing always scared me, lol. What I don't understand is how it works with stuff that tii doesn't like, ie..agreement. I screwed it up twice, so had to submit too a private forum.

My capstone prof had us submit a lot that didn't go through tii, so that was nice.

Yeah so I am sitting here looking at the equation thingy for stats and just keep staring at it......ugh. And to think I was excited about no papers or clc. Lol. I have a lot to figure out

Really it is just a huge assignment that has 3 pieces to it. Get started on it early to have time to get a time worked out to present it within your community. I have a connection at a local nursing home so I did mine there. My instructor repeatedly reminded everyone to make sure we submitted the correct piece in the correct Dropbox. I'm thinking that may be something that has been an issue for many. I'm finished with and now my head is spinning looking at stats assignments. Good luck in community!

I was happy to see a paper assignment again, lol

I was not a fan of stats at all. I spent a LOT of time googling and on youtube to help me understand the language and assignments. I can always BS my way through a paper. You can't BS your way through stats.
