hi! i graduated in 1996 and have been working as an Rn. i had to cut down my hours after the first child and now i work full time at home - with the kids and the hubby i mean, hehehe. i occassionally do some shifts at work just to get away from the chaos at home.

God willing i will do the nclex here in Sydney in May. it is great how they have opened up a pearson testing site here only 30 mins away from home, i was planning to fly to hong kong and didn't know how i was going to leave my kids, my baby is only 6 monts old. God is good!!! and He opens doors. hopefully i can pass the first time round.

how 'bout you amy? did you get your att? when are you planning to take it? what study materials are you using?

have a great day to all!

HEY AMY D--did you get ahold of your BON there in OHIO today and find out about the testing process?:smackingf

ok I am going to chalk this up as a stupid question due to me being brain dead after studying, but an I ask you something? how can you work as a RN if you haven't taken the nclex? I am sure I just missed something but can you explain that to me?

I have not gotten my att yet, I am waitng for it. I am using kaplan , saunders and nclex 3000. and some flashcards but I can't remember by who.

those of us working as rn,s have not worked in the states. in canada we have our own board exams that we write when we graduate!!

mine were the two days, sweat and tears kind..

at one time you could work in the states without writing the nclex, but now you have to ..........

keep up the good work....i'm rootin for you!!..........:rotfl: .......

ok got ahold of them!!!! I sent in my $75 registration fee and requested my transcripts to be sent to them, now as soon as they recieve my transcripts they will file me elligible to take the exam (takes 7-10 days) then they put me in the computer. She said I can at anytime pay to take the test ($200)

but as soon as the computer sees I am elligible they will send me my ATT.

makes sense? so I can pay to take it anytime now....YIKES!

i heard the same fear, the same sleepless night before...also that going to write after graduating in 1988 did not help matters..

i was so worried about the metric system we have switched to the new system...kilos not pounds..etc.....but this was okay for the exam..even our dosages are measured differently. a lot of different medications..but all in all the same classifications...

and what it boils down to amy in the end is the patient..

the passion of the nurse, is to do no harm, to view the whole person, to ease pain, to listen, to be an advocate. to make a difference...nursing is a science and an art...the science of nursing we learn in the classroom, countless days and hours understanding the whole porcess..but the art of nursing is the caring..this has to come from within, that to me is the passion of the nurse...remember that when you write...your patient comes first and foremost.

i will always be thinking of you and praying for your success.....

you go girl!!.................

:yeahthat: (((hugs)))................ :nurse: ...................

diana lynn, I keep forgetting you already passed....LOL

thanks so much for the support and your continued support of this thread!!!!!!

thanks so much!

Hello NURSE DIANA!

What an AWSOME TESTIMONY! You have really encouraged me! If YOU CAN DO IT I CAN DO IT! Thank GOD FOR THE VICTORY! I pray that doors will continue to open up for you in the nursing field! Be Blessed! Rozy

Rozy? whats your story?

how can you work as a RN if you haven't taken the nclex? I am sure I just missed something but can you explain that to me?

Because they live outside the US.

RN's also may retake NCLEX if license on inactive status for five or more years in some states in lieu of referesher course.
