Just got off the phone from my nursing progrm office and as we chatted....the secretary told me of a women that graduated 20 years ago called the office about some questions (mainly if in ohio you had to do anything if you were out a long time and needed to take a class or something to take nclex-------which you dont THANK GOD) and she just called in not too long ago to follow up to tell them she had passed the nclex..............that is right she passed!!!!!! there is hope!!!! ( to all the nay sayers I have come acrossed!!!! woooohoooo!)
what a great sense of humor you have Diana Lynn. I didnt' know you had experience ,, and wow what a lot of it too. I grad in 94 and failed the boards and now am determined to slay this dragon hanging over my head. The boards are tough but be we can do it. thanks for your story and it is a wealth of encouragment! thanks so muchfor sharing!

I am wanting to ask you all, since you are in my situation, how the registration process works for you. I have mailed out today a request for my transcripts to be sent to my SBON and I also sent in my $75 registration fee along with my application , now what? am I correct I need to wait for them to send me a card in the mail? what will it say? I am so nervous!!!!!!
Hey Amy!! I am so glad you are going at the NCLEX again. You are going to be an RN VERY VERY SOON. I live in Texas and I know that we had to have a background check and fingerprint card when we applied for the NCLEX. It may be something you should ask because it sometimes takes a bit for those to get processed. Other than that we had an application to send with out money and registered with Pearson Vue and paid that $$$$ to actually take the test. After that is all done, you should get your ATT which will give you your validation dates for testing. Then you can call Pearson or go online and set your DATE!!! I hope this helps. Hi Cort81, thanks for the info. I know that they only ask here inOhio about fingerprints and background checks if you have applied for or was admitted to the school of nursing after a date in 2003. being i graduated in 94 they already have my fingerprints...LOL thank goodness.
I wonder if I will get anything back just by sending the app in to register and not the actual 200 to test?

wait a min i am confused. i was told to register with my bon by sending in $75 with app and have trascripts sent to them. i thought i was to wait on something from them before i actually pay the $200 to test. is this not correct?
That is how it is here in my state. If I were you I would call the Ohio BON and tell them your situation exactly and what the process is that you should go by. When I didn't pass I picked up the phone and was like okay what do I do now and the lady told me to pay my $200 to Pearson b/c this is how you get your ATT, and to send the application to the BON with your $
