Just got off the phone from my nursing progrm office and as we chatted....the secretary told me of a women that graduated 20 years ago called the office about some questions (mainly if in ohio you had to do anything if you were out a long time and needed to take a class or something to take nclex-------which you dont THANK GOD) and she just called in not too long ago to follow up to tell them she had passed the nclex..............that is right she passed!!!!!! there is hope!!!! ( to all the nay sayers I have come acrossed!!!! woooohoooo!)

Just wanted to let you guys know..I AM SO GLAD I found these posts. I too graduated a few years back, 2002, failed the NCLEX-PN and I was so devastated. Not getting along with my mother and going through a divorce of course I heard it from both..."told you you'd never be a nurse". Got that stuck in my head and have been scared to death to try again. Now Im remarried and my husband is 100% behind me. We have a new son and I want this soooo bad. Reading these posts really gave me hope guys. I too thought I was the only one who waited too long to retest, thought wrong. So Im understanding right that the Kaplan or Sauders are the best to review? I have mosbys and another disc to practice with and there are a few things I know I need to brush up on. I finished nursing school in top 7 in my class and still failed, the couple students that barely made it through are now working as nurses and bragged to me they got high and partied while testing. I am among the few that feels like Im not complete without making a nurse, I know I am meant to be just that. I have been in the medical field for 11 years...cna, CMT... I want to go one more step. Thanks again guys for boosting my confidence. There are alot of caring and nice people here. I have set a limit to one month and Im just gonna go take the test. Wish me luck, and if the two review books would be better than what I have, please let me know. Congrats!!! TO those of you that didnt give up and suceeded... we are the ones that will make excellent nurses cause we want this so bad.......God Bless!

Hi msburns! glad you found us! and your absolutely right! You can do this! a month???? that is when you are taking the test? wow I will be right here chearing you on, it took me 2 just to get through the saunders book alone. Ihave been studying since about last sept. off and on but with saunders since late Feb? I plan taking my nclex the end of may or early June. Again, WELCOME!!!!

Hi everyone! This is the first time in 8 years I knew their was someone out their like me. I graduated in 1998 I have taken my boards twice and failed both times. It has been so long I am just scared!!!!!!!!!!! I felt like I was going to be sick both times I took it, I know it was just nerves, but that does not help in this situation. I have to pass NCLEX because I can not see myself where I am 5 years from now. I have a supportive husband but, I have to do this for myself. I feel like I have failed myself. I bought the Saunders 3rd edition about 3 months ago and I have not even looked at it. As I read through here this seems to be a book that comes highly recommended. I have also taken Kaplan but it has been so long ago. I feel like their is hope after I have read all of these messages even after 8 years.

Hi Katelyn3, yes there are others just like you here! We willhelp you as much as we can.

I write my boards this coming Monday the 5th so keep my in prayer please!!! I am nervous and I am the elder of the group. graduated in 1994 failed the boards twice. once with 75 and once with 265.

everything you said in you post is exactly me! Feelings of doing this for myself and yet I am always asking myself what the heck... do I think I can actually do this? then I read post of people doing it all the time. I cannot wait to post I passed. I will be encouraging others on this site for years to come. Dont give up on your dreams I wish I would have known then what I know now I would have taken it a third time right away!

well,lets see, I made the choice to finally get committed to doing this last summer. My mom bought me a springhouse nclex3000 cd recommended by one of my nursing teachers. So I started with that. then I started researching the net and found allnurses. I lurked for awhile then joined. read ever post I could and came across Suzannes plan using the Saunders book. I started that back in end of feburary. I finished the book and started in on the questions till now. The book took me awhile to get through cause I ended up readying alot of the chapters. the stinking book is over 1200 pages.....LOL Anyways I write the test the 5th of June(which I still can't believe is almost here and finally happening)

I am excited and can't believe how much more I know now then I did when I graduated. And I know for a fact I know more!!!

Need anything else just holler!

P.S. I also did springhouse flashcard from ebay last year too, took them everywhere.....ballgames.....car rides......

I have literally drove my family nuts this past year. The deserve this much more than me....LOL:lol2:

It sounds like you are ready to go, just a few more days. After this you and your family will have to celebrate. But, it will all be worth it. Try and relax these next few days. I will keep you in my prayers. Keep us posted.
