Grading Scale

Published

Just out of curiosity, what is everybody elses grading system like?? For me, we must have a 78 or higher to pass and that is considered a C.

A: 93-100

B: 85-92

C: 78-84

Also, it goes towards your GPA in that manner. For instance, if your grade is a 92, they record it as a B and you only get 3.0 for it. I think this stinks and it is making my GPA drop. I dont mind it for the program, but for my final records I am upset.

Our grading system is the same except a 77 is considered a C.

Specializes in no specialty! (have to graduate first!).

A: 94-100

B: 88-93

C: 76-87

We must also have a C to pass.

I am very nervous about this grading scale. Right now my GPA is a 3.87 and I really want it to stay about that. But I understand why they do it. We will be responsible for lives and we need to be as competant as possible.

My GPA has deffinately dropped. Not only is the grading scale so different, nobody makes A's. They are impossible!! Making a B is like making an A and passing is all some start to care about.

96-100 = A

93-95 = B

89-92 = C

We get a lot of our points from very basic stuff though, such as attendance, CPA's, Learning Checks, so those are almost given to us...as long as we do it, we get the points. The tests are where whether or not we pass or fail is determined.

On our tests, out of 285 questions (as long as we don't lose points anywhere else), we can miss a total of 85 questions...that is to get a C in the class.

The grading scale for the school I will be attending is OK:

A = 90 to 100

B = 80 to 89

C = 76 to 79

D = 70 to 75

In my program, a 93 and up is an A..not sure where the cutoff for B and C are. I'm used to that grading scale, though, because I went to Catholic school and that was the scale all though gradeschool and high school. It was weird doing my prereqs and having the 90 and up As

At my NS, you need 63% © to pass nursing classes and 50% to pass electives. For some reason, the nursing schools in the States use higher grading scales...90% of the people I know wouldnt pass if we had to get 80% or higher in each class. At my friends nursing school in Ontario, she needs a min. of 60% to pass a nursing class). I think I would fail NS lol if I had to have 80's to pass a class. It seems like NS in the part of Canada I live in at least have similar grading scales
