GPC Spring 2012

Published

Okay lets get it started all who applied to GPC 2012 come on in.

Well, we keep getting closer and closer....hope everyone is getting everything taken care of. Does anyone know if traditional track students are eligible to sit for the CNA exam after the first semester of school? I have heard/read that this is an option in some places/schools. Anyone have any info?

I don't know if you can sit for the CNA exam, but you really don't need to for many of the hospitals. You can work as a patient care tech after your first or 2nd semester depending on the hospital's policy. Some you only need 1 semester under your belt, others want 2. PCTs basically do the same things as CNAs but it can vary from 1 hospital to the next. Quite a few people in my class work as techs.

To the both future and current students:

Will you guys be purhasing a backpack?

Will we need one? I havent bought one bc I'm not sure if I need it or not.

Can we turn in our medical form and cpr card on the day of orientation?

slo that's how I understood the directions in our packet. Then the hold will be lifted for registration. Can't wait for orientation!!

Thank you! I wanted to double check. I'm excited too!

I use my nurse pak bag as my book bag. Got all excited before school started & bought a rolling book bag but didn't need it. I don't bring my text books to school. You will need a big binder for all the power point notes & hand outs. That's pretty much all I take to class & jot my own notes on the power point notes. That's pretty much what most folks do.

Perfect, thats what I thought.

Thanks Mangopeach!

This information can be found on the registration schedule you should have printed off after registering for our nursing class.

I haven't been on this site for a while and it's so nice to come and hear and read all the posts you all have posted. There's so much information. Although it sounds like many of you are in the lpn program. I'm just a traditional student.

Does anyone know if we will have a test at the orientation?

No test, that's if it was like our orientation.

Thanks adorable. So can you tell me a little what to expect at Orientation. I'm a little nervous.:uhoh3:
