GPC Fall 2013 letters

Published

I can't believe it. I have read in the past I wouldn't hear until the end of March or April to know if I was accepted. To my very happy surprise, I got my letter in the mail today! Let the games begin.....anyone else here from GPC? Good luck to you all!

A lady from the financial aid office emailed the form to me. On the form it asks what you're changing to and I checked nursing, however the major nursing has a * next to it with a note at the bottom saying you will be listed as prenursing until accepted, so I made a written note on my form that I had been accepted and needed it changed asap for financial aid purposes. Hopefully this works!

aelmo14,

That is the same form I found online yesterday. Well, I will be faxing that puppy over to them today...probably more than once to make sure someone gets it and enters it. Did you send yours to Clarkston? And, did you send it to anyone in particular? Thanks for you help and to everyone else too!

Are any of you familiar with the hope scholarship? I had applied last spring and got it for both spring and summer but will I need to resubmit an application for this year?

I don't think I can qualify because I already have a Bachelors Degree.

When did you mail your form in? I think I will be driving out to Clarkston today to make sure they get it in time. I faxed it this morning, but wonder if it will sit in the fax machine because today is the first day of registration and they are crazy busy. Tried calling to see if they got it and was on hold for 30 min, twice. I think driving out there will be faster and I will feel better knowing they have it.

For time sensitive stuff that is related to paying for school I personally would feel more relived knowing they actually received it. I'd go over there for sure.

Heading there now....hope the lines aren't too long...UGH!

Ok-bad news-I can't get any more financial aid because I have too many credit hours because of my Bachelor's and credits working toward nursing school. I went up there to make sure my change major form was processed today. I also found out only the nursing school/admins can change our majors from pre-nursing to nursing. I also took my 12-year-old son with me to look around the campus. We went into the CH building (used for nursing school) and I meet up with one of the instructors for the simulations lab (I think). Anyways, I told her my biggest fear was having to start an I.V. on someone. (I have been through chemo and the memories are not great for me). Good news-they do NOT teach that at GPC. So, BRING IT ON! I think I will look into filing for any scholarship in which I may qualify.

Im sorry to hear that about your financial aid! Luckily I got mine fixed today and got the hope scholarship again. I think I will be applying for those nursing scholarships as well. Hopefully they will give us more info on that at orientation. So if they dont teach us IV's then who does?! Lol I would like to go to the school too and look around!

Have any of you submitted the medical form? Do we just email it in? I still need 2 more Hep B shots. Do you think I can submitted without them?

Thanks!
