Dear Sarah,
On behalf of the department of nursing, we are pleased to notify you of your admission into the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program for the fall 2006 semester at Purdue University North Central. Congratulations!
bla bla bla
I am still shaking I was so nervous opening that letter. I am IN! Now my micro teacher cannot mess up my chances of getting in. I was very sad though to hear my best friend at school did not get in . School monday is going to be a bit tense I think seeing as we have about 100 people who were trying to get in and only 50 slots (half of which they normally give to students entering the college straight out of high school). Now to balance my own excitement with feeling for those that didn't get in.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
That is awesome! What a great relief that must be.
Let me share a similar story - a few weeks ago I retook my TEAS exam. It is required for entrance to my program, and the score helps determine your 'place in the line'. My first time I was sick, but determined to take it anyway. I got an 84. The 2nd time, Feb. 6, I went to retake and a friend of mine was taking it for her first time that day. I came about of the testing center about 10 minutes before her. I got an 89 that time - I was very pleased and wanted to shout from the roof tops - well, my friend only got a 74 - and worse, she failed one section all together, which in their book says you failed the exam - period. It was a very difficult position to be in, to say the least. Later, I said to two other friends that were there for moral support that day, "I'm sorry. I feel bad for her, but can I not be happy for myself?" What they said to me I will share with you - IT IS NOT SELFISH TO BE HAPPY FOR YOURSELF! You don't sound like the kind of person that is going to 'gloat' over your entrance. You sound like you will be very sympathetic, but don't let your sympathy for them drown out your WONDERFUL NEWS!
You should be proud of yourself and can maintain that elation while lending an ear to those that didn't get in.
Did I read Purdue? You are a Hoosier Girl, too? Many Congrats!!

I agree with Study2Be...you have to be happy for yourself. I'm sort of in the same boat so I know how you feel.
Purdue, huh? I'm impressed! Congrats and let's all make a pact that we won't forget allnurses while we're in school; we'll all make time to post when we can!
