The article that Rolling Stone used for a source sure went through some effort to make sure they could show he is a Trump supporter.
I suppose this is a minor news story. Seems more a local concern, to me. What a strange one for you to appear out of the blue on. And, It's own thread. I wonder what there will be to discuss?
I guess it gives some another opportunity for their usual bloviated commentary.

The story may be “minor” to you, but of interest to those of us following the mini-tempest over “grooming”, sexualization of children and accusations of pedophilia. After all, these accusations are being used to flog yet more restrictions on what may be mentioned in public schools.
I am reminded of the hoo-ha over child-molesting gay men and transgender people, ignoring the fact that the majority of child molesters are … straight men.

Indeed.
Think about the people who want books banned while whining about liberal cancel culture.
Projection, as a tool in communications, is commonplace today. I studied it in psych nursing courses and saw a good bit of it in my early career in psych nursing. It is, clearly, an effective political tool.
I think that must of the projection that we are exposed to in this era of conmen, grifters, and charlatans is rather obvious. Some of it is clumsy or silly. Where the media and political parties create gullibility and naiveté the liars will take advantage. There seems to be a large demographic of Americans who are more inclined to believe things which have no evidence. And here we are.
It's like a perfect storm, if storms were intentional.

That's what makes it interesting to me.
I would agree that the story is a minor blip, and maybe not worthy of it's own thread but certainly worth mentioning in the current events thread, and nothing I heard of until clicking on this thread.
Also people bloviate about insignificant things all the time. Like Biden eating ice cream.
MAGA-ISM is associated with religions that want to suppress people's sexuality. Offhand, I can't think of an authoritarian rigeme that doesn't use religion as a cudgel to mold their followers into religious zombies. When the Russians left Afghanastan and the public spaces began to open up, Mediao movies were the places with the longest lines of people willing to pay. So what's different here? People who were raised in religious extremism often to terrible things to hurt themselves and others. Zealotry is the antithesis of what religion can be.
