Good Pop-Up but still Failed?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello,

I took the NCLEX and got the "good pop-up" via the PVT. Honestly, I don't feel like I did well at all on the exam. My exam was cut off after 75 questions. I had at least 15 SATA questions, and 4 or 5 drop/order questions. I honestly thought I was failing the whole time. Has anyone got the "good pop-up" and still failed? I am stressing out.........

I'm so sorry, what study program are you using?

I took mine 3/19/14 got the good pop up too !!! Checked my results by paying $7.95 and found out I failed!!!!! I'm so upset!!!

Welcome to allnurses sue6698 and enjoyed your first post but unfortunately you are not a trusted source. All trusted sources have statistically proven that the pearson vue trick works 100% every time.

I agree with you.

I'm not sure what you mean by not being a trusted source but I can assure you that I checked Pearson's website 10+times. Each time the "good pop up" showed up. I researched this pop up info on the web and every post states that it is 100%. Explain to me how I seem to be the only one it didn't work for. I was at work when I found out I failed, totally devastated. This was first time taking the NCLEX RN.

Trusted sources have more than one post on this website before posting something to stir the pot (or get this site hits) on a popular but controversial subject.

In most cases, the PVT does work.

However.

A total of THREE people in my PN class took the nclex, did the PVT, and it was not accurate. One girl actually failed the test but the PVT indicated she passed. It was horrible for her- she announced to the world on fb about her good news, but a few days later found out she really failed. Two other classmates passed, but the PVT took them to the payment page. They were both devastated- one even had a terrible blowup with her husband over it- but later when hey got their quick results, they has both passed.

Why this happened to three people in one town, one class, I have no idea, since by all accounts it's a very rare thing. I guess an important thing to take away from it is that while your results likely ARE accurate, shouting it from the rooftops before receiving legit confirmation from Pearson probably isn't a good idea.

I took a refresher through my school and I used Kaplan and Saunders also. I'm thinking this time around of trying the NCSBN NCLEX review online. I will sign up again tomorrow and take it from there.

Whether you consider me a "trusted source" is not really of concern to me, but I am curious as to how you reached the conclusion that this trick "works 100% of the time". If you consider this a valid study I'd have to take the time to list the many fatal flaws in such a 'study'. Then again, it would probably be enough to point out that a study like this shouldn't even get a passing grade in nursing school.

Based on what data should people consider YOU a "trusted source"....?

The past couple of days I have been seeing more and more post on AN about ppl receiving the "good pop up" and actually failing maybe pearson vue is catching on and trying to change that

I honestly don't think PV is trying to do anything intentional at all, either way. They may have upgraded or simply changed something in their system that results in fewer accurate "trick" responses. They never, ever, said that the trick was a valid way of determining a pass/fail grade. But it's not like they gain or lose anything based on anyone's misconceptions about such a trick.

I expect that like most computer glitches (good or bad) they change once systems change, that's all.

Hey all, I just took my NCLEX yesterday at 0800 and have been receiving the "good pop up" ever since... But my license is still not showing up when I search for it in the state board of nursing! The only thing that has me really worried is that three of my classmates took the test at the same time and they have all received an email from the BON saying their licenses have been issued, and when I search their names they come up as licensed RNs.

I got all 265 questions and have been positively FREAKING out.

Has anyone else received their results later than others in their test-taking cohort? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Sammo- are you sure you got the good pop-up, and not the "on hold" pop-up?
