Hi everyone!
Thought I could start this thread for anyone that is applying to the GCC Nursing Program this spring? I'm just getting my portfolio organized and prepared. I have to take the HESI one more time on Feb 24th and attend an info session on Feb 28th and I'm all set. I'm so nervous! But, I'm going to try to be optimistic. I look forward to hearing from you guys :) Take Care~
Actually, ctine, I didn't even think about the modules. Those I saw though. I think we are supposed to have videos on there that show different skills and I can't find them! Let me know if you see them tomorrow though, ok?
The open lab availability is posted on the door. I think I remember seeing the 29th as the only other day. I have a cardio appt on Monday and want to go to school to take care of a couple of other things anyway, so it'd work out great for me to go that day.
I didn't see any videos on the evolve site, but there is videos for different skills on the point website.I'm not sure if that's what you were referring to?
Okay thanks, I wonder what other days are open before school starts, I guess I'll have to go and check because I want to get some more practice before I start.

momtofore: I was the one that got up and briefly talked about SNO during the shirt give away. The way that I broke up my binder was by section. That way if we had a quiz on chapter 3 I knew where chapter 3 was located. Also, they would be in order based on exam. I had a separate binder for lab. In each binder I had a copy of the calendar, the lesson plan, and scrap paper. Additionally, I kept a separate little day planner. The key is to just stay on top of things.
The lab is open on Monday...if we have power. :)
The videos were different for our class. We didn't have online access to videos. We actually had to watch them using a disk on a computer. Sorry that I cannot be of help with that.
Ctine05: You are more than welcome! :)
If I could offer one more opinion. I would focus on the skills based on your lab schedule. You will be tested on certain skills in lab, and then your clinical instructor will test you in the clinical setting (after you pass in lab). Make sure you really feel comfortable with each skill as you are going thru them in lab, and spend some time in the lab going over each skill. Some of the skills you will not even see until semester II, so try to resist spending time on them. You will be focusing on them soon enough.
I plan on being in the lab on Monday if it is open. I think I am going both morning and evening.
For anyone who has been on Perry...where exactly are the modules. When I go into Perry (evolve) I see a tab that says resources and mobile. Once I click on them it does bring up videos on different skills. Are the modules/tests after these videos?
RB, I did have the wonderful pleasure of meeting you in the hall. Thank you for the pointers and help! It was great getting to talk to people who have been through this.
Stay safe everyone!!! Have fun organizing!
Sammy, I don't see the videos or that tab!! I sign in. I click on 'my content' on the left which brings up 'my course'. Then I click on the course name. Is that where you go? I have tabs there but they are 'course home', 'calendar' 'course documents' 'course tools' 'communicate' 'report' and 'automate'. Is this what you have?
I'm so lost...
Thanks again, RB. I know who you are now! I'll be there Monday unless the dr gives me things to take care of. I have no idea of the times. But pretty much all my time during the week belongs to studying and preparing for the next couple of weeks! I'm only working 2 hours a week and vacation time has already taken place.
Found them! I swear this wasn't there before, lol. I just wasn't looking far enough in.
From where I said I went when I signed on (clicking to the course), go to course documents. Click on 'course', then Module 01 and then Module 01 lessons. So cool. I can't wait to do this tomorrow! I'm glad I got the code yesterday so I have something fun to do while it's storming outside...so long as I have electric!
Sammy, were you in group 1, 2, or 3?
Thanks for the info ,I wasn't clicking on modules because I didn't think it was in there.I'm going to also try and get started on them tommorow, hopefully the power doesn't go out!I just want to make sure I'm doing this right. We go through lesson 1-6 and bring module 1 exam to lab and then we bring post test lesson 1 and 2 in module 2 and then post test lesson 2&4 in module 3?There the five tests?

Cindy, I also printed everything out and put them all into separate binders, but I was also unsure on what to tab them.If the lab is open on the 29th I would def like to go so I can get some more practice.Where can we find the hours at again?
I was planning on going onto evolve tomorrow.I checked it out yesterday though, are you talking about the modules that are due for lab 1?
