  1. I don't know what to do, all I ever do is spend all my time studying and doing my school work..and I still have problems getting a decent grade on a test..I haven't even started on any school work this weekend because I'm not sure if I'm wasting my time..I mean am I wasting my time?If If I'm barely making it through this semester how would I ever make it another 3 semesters....I'm so lost on what to do:(....
  2. Impaired tissue integrity related to decreased oxygen and nutrient supply to the skin and subcutaneous tissue associated with reduced blood flow as evidenced by disruption of skin surface and blisters on patient’s lower left extremity.....could this be a cardiopulmonary diagnosis?
  3. hi, i'm a first semester nursing student and i have been having trouble trying to do my care plans this week.i usually get them done without any trouble, but for some reason i just cannot think of diagnoses for my patient:confused:.once i get the diagnosis down i'm usually good.i'll give you some information on my patient.... my patient was admitted to the emergency room after waking up with severe foot pain.she had an emergency pcta, sfa, and popliteal done.(percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty, superficial femoral artery and popliteal artery)after assessment and diagnostic testing it was confirmed that patient had an ischemia to the left lower limb as a result of arteriosclerosis and required ptca, sfa & popliteal surgery to restore circulation to the extremity.she has a sore on her left foot that was confirmed as cellulitis.wound care was done on her left foot this morning. patient wound measures 1.5mm x 1mm (length and width) with the depth skin break down. patient has a medical history of htn, dm, vascular dementia, gastroparesis, tia, cva, gerd, anemia, gastritis, cad, djd, bipolar disorder and pyuria. patient's surgical history includes bilateral carotid aterectomy. patient denies any history of smoking tobacco or alcohol consumption. vitals- t-97.8, bp 95/63, pulse ox 96%, pulse 69, her blood sugar was 116.(she is diabetic) lab values- glucose-163, co2-20, wbc-2.9, hemo-10.8, hemat-32.9. she rates her pain a 5/10.it is aching when sitting and sharp when applying pressure. we have to do a care plan on the neurosensory system and cardiopulmonary. i was thinking acute pain related to inflammation of ulceration wound site as evidenced by patient demonstrating facial grimacing when applying pressure to her lower left extremity and patient stating "my pain is a 5/10."-nuerosensory.i'm not sure if that would be a correct diagnosis? i cannot think of anything for cardiopulmonary....possibly , impaired tissue integrity related to altered circulation..would that be one? any help is greatly appreciated, i'm having such a tough time on these!
  4. For anyone who has class tomorrow, Do we need to bring our fundamentals book?
  5. Your welcome! Also we didn't have to print out all the questions, all they want to see is the table with the grade for each module. oh no that's not good, I hope you find it!
  6. I think that we only need the module 1 exam, but I think I'll bring them all just in case. Is anyone bringing the nursing kit?It says on the paper that we need it, but my teacher said we didn't since we already did the inventory for it in lab.I guess the people who didn't have lab will need it.I always like to be well prepared so I will probably end up bringing it anyway lol.
  7. Has anyone did the ati communications work yet?I was going to start on it because they said work ahead if u want, but the teacher said don't do it till we learn it.Well I won't learn it till I have lecture on tues and then it's due on wed lol.I just don't like waiting till last minute to do things so I was wondering if anyone has started it yet and what it was all about? See you all tomorrow:)!
  8. For anyone who had lab today, did your teacher say anything about the evolve modules? It seemed like they just wanted to check if it was done so I was wondering if were actually graded on them? They didn't seem to make a big deal over them so I figured they just wanted us to do them for practice. also I think I remember them saying we can go to the library to get our student id punched so we can clip it on our pants, has anyone done that yet?
  9. Lab went well! We went over the syllabus and took an inventory of our nursing kits. Then we fed each other jello and water lol. After that we learned how to tie a restraint onto the bed and practiced some vitals,we took blood pressure and apical pulse. We will be doing this all again on Friday, but going into it a little further.
  10. Yea I think the one teacher said bring it and the other one said we didn't need it lol so I'm just bringing it and having it in my car just in case we need it.
  11. Does anyone have lab tomorrow? We just bring our stuff listed on the sheet and vital signs right?or do we need our kit too?
  12. It wouldn't let me print all the questions. It just printed out one question and that was it, so I copied and pasted all of the questions into Microsoft word and then printed it.
  13. I went to the report tab and then clicked on grades under category and then student grades and a table came up with all the grades so I printed that out.I also went into the modules and clicked on each one that we completed and printed it out with all of the questions.I wasn't sure if that was right, but I couldn't figure out any other way to do it lol.
  14. I was confused with that because it starts in the middle of a section and ends like that too, I started on pg 580 and ended with the paragraph on pg 594 right before it talks about assessing the abdomen. We have to read the whole chapter for class 4 so I guess it really doesn't matter because we have to know all the info anyway. Also did anyone print out the evolve tickets yet? I printed mine out, but I wasn't sure if I printed them right.
