Gloucester County College Nursing Fall 2011 Hopefuls?

Hi everyone!

Thought I could start this thread for anyone that is applying to the GCC Nursing Program this spring? I'm just getting my portfolio organized and prepared. I have to take the HESI one more time on Feb 24th and attend an info session on Feb 28th and I'm all set. I'm so nervous! But, I'm going to try to be optimistic. I look forward to hearing from you guys :) Take Care~

Ordered myself some black sneakers and I'm going to Best Uniform to look at some navy cargo scrubs this week. I'm going to wear scrubs to the job, though I'm not positive I HAVE to. She told me to wear them if I have them. Next thing to shop for is the tops!

Lol! I went to Kohl's today and bought a few white polo shirts. White tops are such a nightmare for me. I just know I am going to stain them to death...

momtofore, good idea. I thought of getting the polos from a scrub store..... but a department store might be better.

Did anyone get their stethoscope yet? I was looking at the littmann classic on medisave and I was thinking about getting it engraved.

ctine, i got the littman classic. It's really nice. I didn't get mine from medisave though..... but that website does offer free engraving and it looks like a bargain! I'm having my steth engraved by a trophy shop since I got mine from ebay. I got the raspberry color, it looks so cute. Good luck on your decision!

I'm a little confused with the hemostat and bandage scissors.... did anyone else get those yet?

Just got my formal job offer! Woohoo! I go for my pre-employment physical in the morning, start on the 23rd and have orientation June 6 and 7. It's going to make the summer crazy, but I'm looking forward to the experience!!

I just cleared one of the book shelves in our family room and put my nursing, science, and medical terminology books on one. It's almost full and I haven't even gotten all of the books yet!

Tonight I'll post about our getting together. I know you're all anxious to find out when, lol! Off to study for my final in two hours!

I just purchased the littmann classic in pink I got it engraved also:).I was also a little confused on the bandage scissors and hemostat.I was waiting to see if someone had got them first before I purchase them because I don't want to get the wrong thing.Also Where did you get your blood pressure cuff from?

I got my bp cuff from ebay or amazon i think. It's an aneroid diagnostix. like 35$ i bought it last summer in hopes of being accepted for the fall! lol.

Finally finished with CPR yay. My teacher is sending me my certification in the mail. Just one more final and then finished with this semester!

Wow..... i just had my stethoscope engraved at a trophy shop ..... they look terrible lol. The engraving is in the worst place where no one can even see them and they lettering is so small..... i'm going to send them to medisave now ....... hopefully they can get it right. I just saw that they do engraving on already purchased stethoscopes.
