Hi everyone!
Thought I could start this thread for anyone that is applying to the GCC Nursing Program this spring? I'm just getting my portfolio organized and prepared. I have to take the HESI one more time on Feb 24th and attend an info session on Feb 28th and I'm all set. I'm so nervous! But, I'm going to try to be optimistic. I look forward to hearing from you guys :) Take Care~
I sent all the initial paperwork today. I went to the docs, and I have Quest tomorrow. Im gonna call the school because I had my Hep B like 10 years ago and the office is closed, I have no record but my blood titers do show it. Hopefully that will be enough. My appt. is on the 26th at 315. I cant remember which is which but i want the classes on mon 8-1030, Tues 745?-1230 and Thurs 645-1230.
I am totally stressed about other stuff and this additional paperwork stuff doesnt help. Just a little complaint - some of the forms say to do one thing while the other forms say to do something completely different. It's very annoying.
I am glad I got accepted though, so I will try to focus on that!
Oh a new member! Awesome :) Glad, it's great that you've been accepted! What were your HESI scores? I want to see what the pool was like. Also, when dd you make your appointment for registration? Mine is April 26th 1045am. Good luck! And it's going to be an exciting journey together!
I got accepted also for Fall 2011. I already sent in the paper work that was due the 15th, I got Quest done, and appointment on the 26th set up. I have to get my childhood immunization record though. I went to my former high school and requested it. They said sometimes they don't have it still. I had got some shots and clinics and stuff so I don't think my dr would have it. Do you think GCC would?
GCC might have it.... you could try calling them. Congrats on getting accepted! Were you excited when you received your letter? It' great to have more people joining us on this forum :)
I have my CHBC this morning at 10:30am, can't wait to get it over with. Then I'm headed to the school to drop the papers off at the nursing office.
Thank you :) and yes, I was very excited lol now just stressed about getting all those shots done. :/ and yeah if my high school doesn't have it, I think I'll call GCC. Doesn't hurt to check lol also, congrats to everyone else for getting accepted too! :)
Dannipoint, I'm in the same situation lol I got all the classes done except for the nursing classes but only doing the nursing classes makes parttime. I also need to be full time for insurance purposes. Which I want to just be able to focus on the nursing classes also. It has to be extremely difficult doing nursing classes and other classes.
LaVidaDolice, I know! My insurance is with Amerihealth and by reading their website FAQs I found that it says status does not matter for students up to 26. I will have to call and verify this just to make sure. It would really suck if I had to keep taking courses I didn't need just to be full time status. Best of luck to you!

Lol I know. I should probably call my insurance company and check too.Lol And thank you, same to you :)
My son is 22. We have been told that he can be covered under our insurance until he is 26 regardless of his student status. This change apparently went into effect in the last year or two. So by all means, contact your insurance company. You should be fine going part-time, and wouldn't that be a relief!
I just made my allergist appt for the 26th and I'm going for my mantoux Monday morning. Getting there bit by bit!

Alright then, I will make sure I have my PPD done on monday. We have to wait like a week or two right, for them to read the results?
