The stethescope is a good one. A PDA is really helpful to me in my clinical. I use it as a handy pocket reference as opposed to carrying tons of books.

do more of the housework, child care, etc. (than you're already doing, I mean ...) :) "Give" her more free time for her studies.

I was gonna say a good stethoscope too. If she's paying her own way through school, you might want to pick up the tab on something like books, nursing supplies she'll need, uniforms, or even help with the tuition...along with the card telling her how proud you are of her.

I like the gift certificate for books idea. Not for school books, but for outside reading. Alot of the ppl I know that got accepted to the program are wanting nursing books by Echo Heron, the how to survive nursing school type books, and books from the "Made Incredibly Easy" series. Hope you get alot of suggestions to help you out:)

Gift certificate for a professional massage or other such spa treatment.
I'm in nursing school now and I bought all my books, stethoscope, shoes, etc. But because I shelled out for all that I don't feel like I have money to spend on myself.
And a note letting her know how proud you are would be a VERY good idea!
