Just took the nyclex-rn
I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it. Good luck to everyone still waiting...

Just took the nyclex-rn
I have 24 more hours to wait for the results... What does it mean to stop just 2 or three questions after 75. I too don't feel good about that.. I mean come they only needed to 4 more questions to tell if I passed or failed. I hate the waiting. I feel so bad for those that have to wait longer then 48 hours!!!!!!!!

accepted a job and then found out I was pregnant
About a month ago I accepted my first nursing job. I don't start until October 27th(taking boards first). I found out 4 days ago that I am pregnant. While I am thrilled with this news I'm a little nervous how the my new job will be affected. I will be just starting my second trimester by the time I start orientation, which means I will only be working for 6 months before I take Maternity leave( 3 months)... I have already worked at this facility for 5 years, and I can see myself here for a long time. Is it wrong to still take the position? Do they have a right to not hire me now? Any info or advise would be appreciated...Thank you...

First Interview
I have my first interview next week. I'm really nervous. I haven't even taken the boards yet. Any suggestions? Outside of the standard job interview questions what should I be prepared for. I already have a bunch of my own questions to ask. I hope that doesn't seem to overzealous, but I want to make sure the hospital fits for me and much as I do it..... Any info or help would be appreciated!!!!

Did you live off of student loans while in school?
Nope... I worked full time days and went to school at night. (just graduated may 25th :) )Most difficult two years of my(and my husbands) life. But I would do it all over again. I took out student loans the first time I was in college and I'm still paying for them. I would never take out student loans again. We don't have children yet, but we've already started the future children college fund. I don't want my kids to have to be in debt as they start out their lives.. The unfortunate thing is that most of us just don't have a choice...

The end is near
I've been coming to this site for almost 2.5 years. I will be taking my last final on May 16th..(I can't wait). I've posted responses a few times, but mostly I just read through everything. Which is what brings me to this post. I was reading through and looking at all the pre-nursing students post and just remembering when that was me 2.5 years ago. It was so exciting and scarey. I wasn't sure if I wanted to laugh from excitement or cry because of fear. The last 2.5 years have been the most challenging and rewarding years of my life. So, to all the new nursing students, good luck. You will have good days and bad days. There will be a lot of frustration and self doubt, but there will also be many rewarding days. I remember the days when I thought just mastering the art of taking a BP seemed impossible, and then to see where I am now(although I do know I still so much left to learn). It all seemed so impossible, which is why I couldn't be prouder of myself and the great friends and collegues I've made along the way. So, good luck, studying hard, and treat the patients with the respect and dignity they deserve. To all the new grads, I wish you the best of luck also.

Grey's Anatomy Premier!!! + How to Contact Show Creators
I doubt it will get canceled when there are 17 million viewers, and I believe it is taking over Bosten Legals slot. Just because a few people have to pick apart every aspect of the show doesn't mean the show stinks. I happen to like it, and will continue watching. It is a TV show. If you don't like it, change the channel...

Would you marry your prison pen pal?
Never.... It's crazy, and your asking for trouble. Not to mention I would never have a prison pen pal to begin with.

Grey's Anatomy Premier!!! + How to Contact Show Creators
Maybe with all our incredible minds out there we should be putting together a script for a show about Nursing students, or Rn's etc....

Grey's Anatomy Premier!!! + How to Contact Show Creators
I'm probably going to get burned for this, but I really liked the show. I work in healthcare currently, and I will granduate with My RN in 8 weeks. The show is about 9 interns and what they go through in becoming Doctors. I agree that the first show didn't depict nurses in the best light. The character Alex was a real jerk and treated the nurse with no respect, but that is his character. At the end he ended up looking like idiot, not the nurse he tried to make feel like an idiot. How do we know that the show won't end up depicting nurses in a good light. No one seems to want to see what will happen. This isn't a show about nurses, and if it was would you get angry if it depicted doctors in a bad light. I just don't understand the immediate uprise.

reporting a collegue
I think that you need to be the one to report any mistakes you have made. That is your responsibility as a nurse. As is reporting this individual. You are aware that the abuse if going on, if you don't report it, you are an accomplice. Good luck to you, and my prayers are with those patients.
