Georgia Baptist College of Nursing Fall 2015

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey Guys! I wanted to start at threat for those who have applied or been accepted to Georgia Baptist College of Nursing for 2015. I applied in October and was accepted last week. The reason I heard back so soon is because I have completed all of my prerequisite classes. Has anyone else applied or heard a response yet? If you all don't mind we could share our stats as well (Teas and GPA) that would be helpful to others viewing the thread. I applied with a 3.6 and a C on my teas. I was afraid that I was going to be denied but I think my essay helped out a ton. I was going to retake a class or my teas but they accepted me before I had to go through all of that. I hope to hear back from you all as we begin this process together. Thank you all so much and good luck to everyone.

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted. To those who are waiting, it will be over soon. I will be attending an accepted students social tonight. I can not wait to start nursing school in August. It will be here before we know it. :)

I got in!!!!! beyond blessed.

Good luck guys! I'm also currently a student at GBCN, feel free to message me with any questions! Good luck!

And to those accepted - ENJOY YOUR SUMMER :)

I assure you that you all will LOVE your decision to attend GBCN. All of the professors are absolutely WONDERFUL. You know how usually there is always a disliked professor? You won't have one here. They're all great and they really challenge you.

1st semester is certainly a learning process. Most people put most of their time toward Patho and Fundamentals, while professional nursing and community can also be tricky. For patho, DO THE STUDY GUIDES PROVIDED! If you pay attention in community, you should be fine and same with fundamentals.

Mid-way through second semester, 304 is very similar to patho. Do not throw out your patho notes as you build off of patho in 304. More than likely your best bet will be to read for mental health. Gerontology is just a lot of fun!

Again, if you have more questions feel free to shoot me a message! We can exchange contact information if needed.

Thank you for the great information. I'm new to this but have been reading these furums for over a year. I have a question. I have apply to GBCON for this year 2015 however my advisor was waiting on a transcript from GMC. I have send in that transcript. I received a email from her with info about the nurses coprs scholarship 2015. In order for me to apply for the scholarship I have to be accepted into a nursing program. My question is, does that mean I'm accepted? I email her but haven't heard back from her. Please anyone please let me know.

You will receive an official acceptance letter if you are accepted.

I called and asked but the lady who answered told me that something was mailed out to me. I'm hoping for the best. I have worked hard for this. Been stocking my mailbox like crazy. The wait is insane. But I have faith...

Im praising my God!!!! I'm in, receive my acceptance letter today. To all of you waiting, don't give up. Congrats to everyone already accepted.

Thanks @ meeep, Im so thankful and grateful. What would you recommend I do from now to mentally prepare for school in the fall. I used to read your class 2014 gbcon furum and wished I was in your shoes lol.

As hard as it is, just relax and enjoy your free time while you can! You will have plenty to do soon enough and studying ahead won't give you much of an advantage. If you truly must do something to prepare, brush up on any A&P you struggled with/forgot. You will be expected to know it. The instructors first semester will not re-teach it, and you will not have time to learn it with everything else you will be expected to know. If you are solid in A&P, patho pharm will come much easier to you. Try to relax and spend time with loved ones and doing things you enjoy now. Free time will become more scarce once the program starts. Feel free to private message me if you have specific questions. Congratulations again, you will love GBCN!

Hi everyone!

My name is Anique and I've also been accepted into the BSN program for Fall 2015. I am actually kind of torn because I've also been accepted into my previous school, University of West Georgia, and I don't know which one to choose. My first choice is definitely Mercer, but that tuition scares me a bit. I already have a previous degree in Psychology so I've pretty much used most of my finincal aid and all of my Hope scholorship. If anyone could give me some advice about other finanical aid options that would help me greatly to make a decision.
