Hi everyone,
I'm currently finishing up my prerequisites and just started my NursingCAS Application for George Washington ABSN for Spring 2015. I found out today (4/17/2015) GW temporarily made their Spring 2016 application unavailable due to errors. They will be releasing it again starting 4/24/15. Until then, I'll be completing the generic information on NursingCAS (personal info, transcript entry, etc)
I just wanted to start a thread to see who else is applying to GW ABSN Spring 2016 and get through this journey together!

Gummycoco,
I got my acceptance letter last week for the Spring session. Thanks for helping ease some of our worries. I will be coming from Southern Maine. I have two options for lodging in Hagerstown, MD or Boyds, MD and perhaps DC as a third. I have few childhood friends in the area who are willing to help. Do you know if any of those areas? Are they too far from school and/or clinicals? I'm also curious about financial aid, without divulging personal stuff, is their financial aid good? Last question, what was the weekly schedule like?
Thank you for your help.
@danielk97 where in southern Maine? I'm from southern New Hampshire and coming from Boston! Congrats on the acceptance! I'm glad there will be a few New Englanders! If you fill out the FAFSA and then call the financial aid office they can give you a good idea of what assistance you're eligible for before you get the final package. I'm sure it is dependent on an individual's situation but from my experience the office said I would almost certainly get what I need to afford school. they were very helpful answering all my questions and reassuring me that it is not out of my means to go back to school so I would definitely suggest giving them a call :)
Daniel,
Congrats on the acceptance!
Well, for me, I would say Boyds and Hagerstown are a bit far from the campus. We don't have any clinical rotations around those areas. D.C. might be a better location.
Also, from my experience, the school does not provide any financial aid. Students apply for scholarships and take private loans out to cover their expense. But I would definitely call the financial aid office and ask them! Good luck!
@AnonGW
They send out additional information after you submit the letter of intent and deposit. The acceptance email simply tells you how to submit the letter of intent/deposit. The only other email they send after admission is a Save The Date email about Accepted Students Day.
Hope that helps!

Seems like they are all over the place with response times. Some people get their decision within days of being sent for final review, and others seem to be taking weeks. Someone on here (don't remember who it was) had their transcripts verified exactly a week before mine and got their decision two weeks ago... My app still hasn't been sent to the review board.
