@blessedNhopeful Here's the list we got from the program coordinator: 1 red scrub top with logo - must be purchased at Fenton's 1 navy scrub top with logo - must be purchased at Fenton's 2 navy scrub tops (no logo) - can be purchased at any scrub store 2 navy scrub bottoms - can be purchased at any scrub store 1 khaki scrub bottom - can be purchased at any scrub store 1 unisex consultation lab coat with logo - must be purchased at Fenton's - ORDER DUE DECEMBER 4TH 1 pair of white nursing shoes (closed back, closed toe, non-permeable, non-athletic) - can be purchased at any scrub store or in-store at Fenton's I'm sure you'll get the email with the order form for Fenton's soon, and she said the logo scrubs can be ordered at Accepted Students Day. Although it's not mentioned, I'm sure you'll also need a stethoscope. We'll probably get our student badge during orientation. hope that helps! Katie

@blessedNhopeful Idk what you mean by a supply list but we got a list of the numbers and colors of scrubs we need to get...we don't find out our class schedule until clinical placements are determined in mid December. hope that helps! katie

There are a lot of restaurants/bars/shops in Reston. It has great reviews as a good place for young professionals to live. I wanted to live close to campus but also close to the metro to get into the city which is why I am looking at Reston. Herndon seems great too, it's a little bit closer to campus. I don't plan to have much of a social life but i wanted to be around other people who do in case I get a bit of free time lol! I am planning to have a car, I think it would be hard to get around without one...

A few girls and I are looking into living in Reston! It's about a 15-20 min drive to campus, and the metro stop is right there to get into the city :)

@anonGW The mandatory orientation starts January 6th and goes through the 8th. Classes start on the 11th

@blessedNhopeful $500, but if you end up attending the school it is deducted from your tuition :)

@AnonGW They send out additional information after you submit the letter of intent and deposit. The acceptance email simply tells you how to submit the letter of intent/deposit. The only other email they send after admission is a Save The Date email about Accepted Students Day. Hope that helps!

@danielk97 where in southern Maine? I'm from southern New Hampshire and coming from Boston! Congrats on the acceptance! I'm glad there will be a few New Englanders! If you fill out the FAFSA and then call the financial aid office they can give you a good idea of what assistance you're eligible for before you get the final package. I'm sure it is dependent on an individual's situation but from my experience the office said I would almost certainly get what I need to afford school. they were very helpful answering all my questions and reassuring me that it is not out of my means to go back to school so I would definitely suggest giving them a call :)

@gummycoco, do you like the program? Are you happy with your clinical placements? Where are most of the clinical sites located? Do most students live right by campus or somewhere between DC and Ashburn? What is there to do in your free time? Are you happy with your decision to to to GW? Any advice for the rest of us? Something you wish you had known? Sorry for the bombardment of questions! Thanks for commenting so we can hear your thoughts!

GW has a whole breakdown of costs on the website, but it estimates housing at over $1000 per month and I have found nice places for $500-600 so I wouldn't go by their room/board estimates. Its a private university so it will never be an "affordable" program like a community college would be but the education will be incomparable!

Thoughts on making a Facebook group? I'm not big into social media but it might make it easier to meet everyone and find others who will be in the program! Let me know :)

Yeah I was hoping to find a place between DC/Ashburn too because I'm nervous about the campus being so rural...I went to undergrad in Boston so I'm used to being in a city all the time so this will definitely be a change of pace! Were there other students on campus? I'm curious if students hang out on campus or just go to their classes and head home. I didn't apply for Washington Squared because I'm interested in Pediatrics and want to get a job at a Pediatric Hospital after graduation, so it didn't make sense for me to apply, but I definitely still want to be close to DC for clinicals/activities away from school. I read on some of the other forums that people live in Reston because it is where the subway stop is and is also close to campus (15 min away by car), did anyone at the program mention that town?
